On the back of the signing of the brilliant Alexis Sanchez what have been your top 5 most exciting Arsenal signings. Here are mine:

5) Davour Suker. After Bergkamp in 95 this was prob the biggest name we signed. So happy when I heard we captured his signing in the summer of 2000. World Cup golden boot winner and Real Madrid talisman. What else could you want? Well, maybe signing him when he was a few years younger perhaps! Still, he had moments of brilliance eg that goal v Sunderland in the league and his assist v Barca in the CL at Wembly.

4) Baptista and Gallas. I remember the day perfectly, was going on the way to the cinema that night (August 31st 2006). We announced the loan signing of the beast and in the last min the swap deal involving Cole and Gallas. Expected a lot more from Baptista so really disappointed he was a dud. However, was one of the few that was generally happy with Gallas but not going to get into that old debate!

3) Jose Antonio Reyes. Jan 2004. Remember the news as it was yesterday. Moreover, I recall news of us singing the homesick Spaniard breaking after a uni lecture 10 and a half years ago. So much hope yet so much disappointment. Honestly thought he was going to be our Cristiano. Shame he was such a pussy boy because talent wise he was as good as they came.

2) Alexis Sanchez. Felt like yesterday when....only joking. My number 2 may come to a surprise to some but it has to be Wiltord. Was a big fan of his when he was at Bordeaux as he kinda reminded me of a French Ian Wright. I remember the signing being very prolonged and Wiltord even having to go on strike in order to get his move. Looking back his career never really developed with us to the extend I wanted to, mainly because he never made a position his own. Eternally grateful for his OT winner which was won us the league.

1) Andrei Arshavin. Was amazed by him during Euro 2008. Could not believe my eyes when we finally pulled it off the following winter. Recall the day of signing very vividly. It was the day after the epic Nadal Federer Australian Open final and work was called off due to intense snow. The transfer seemed like it had been going on for months but the feeling when we finally announced was second to none. Was world class for 6 months, got us our fourth place but as we all now that was as good as it got. But in terms of excitement this is still number one for me.
