Ok so there's been more goals but there haven't been many moments of pure genius if any.

All just seems a bit random who wins

Can totally see someone like Colombia winning cos they can run hard

Poor for England but it's been an amazing tournament so far. Definitely the best in my time in any case.

But think about it. It's been riddled with poor goalkeeping, dodgy reffing and no outstanding quality.

Plus so many top players are missing out

RVP and Cahill goals were quality.

Poor reffing in the first 2 games, after that it was fine more or less.

Some keepers have been poor, others have put in outstanding performances.

It's not the highest standard of football competition in the world, the CL is.
Thats not the point of it- It's a celebration of how everyone in the world is brought together by football.

Its been an excellent world cup. Loads of big stars showing their class. Most of the big sides doing well. Enough plucky underdogs being plucky. The big upset of Spain going home early.

Ok I can see how England fans are upset at how the team performed but they weren't expected to qualify out of that group with 2 better teams anyway.

if theres one thing thats piss poor its been the defending. some appalling showing by some of the alleged top nations. cant think of an oustanding back 5 at the tournament

German defence has been solid.

Anyway the game's focus has changed. Teams are generally more attack minded - which is great for entertainment.

It's not. Sure I get fed up with both arsenal and England promising much but failing to deliver but I've been banging the "football ain't what is was" drum for ages.

There are no dreamy players out there bar messi. No fat ronaldo, no figo, no van basten, no gullit, no zidane, no bergkamp, no Henry, no seedorf, no effenberg just a bunch of amazing athletes

As I said elsewhere: That's because it pays to be more attacking to get out of the groups because of the way it's structured, once it becomes sudden death it's a whole other ball game- It pays to be more cagy canny and counter attacking.
