Linked in Daily Star: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/381075/Arsenal-eye-up-new-winger-with-Di-Maria-Pedro-and-Cuadrado-under-consideration

We were linked to him repeatedly during the spring too. Moving over some posts from the houseboat thread:

Cuadrado has scored a few wondergoals this season. Every time I watch he pulls off some outrageous piece of skill. He looks like the player Wenger wanted Gervinho to turn into.

Here's a good compilation that shows a bit of what he's about:

Personally I'd rather have Cuadrado than Sanchez or Di Maria.

Do you think he'll have a breakout world cup Klaus? If he is as good as you say then we should wrap up the deal before the world cup.

Doesn't he play right wing? Wonder if he could do a job on the left, also thought Barca had this guy lined up to replace Alves?

Don't know too much about him but read he has been in top form this season. We've been linked to him throughout this season

I do.

I think he'll make the team of the tournament. Fits in with what I've seen from him. Barca and Bayern are already being thrown around but his contract situation is complicated. He's co-owned by Fiorentina and Udinese. They need to resolve that situation this summer, because co-ownership won't be legal much longer in Serie A. I think it will delay a potential transfer until well after the World Cup.

I'm not sure he even has a preferred role. I've seen him start on four or five different positions. He looks at ease on either wing to me.

Moved from the houseboat thread due to a Daily Star link!? C'mon son.

It's a perfectly valid link! There was that one time they got an Arsenal rumour right. I think was Wenger's contract extension back in 2009.

99% of links are utter shit. We've got to let some of them have room to stink the place up outside the houseboat thread.

I like this link ... a fine fragrance 🙂

he does seem like a better version of gervinho. ridiculously quick feet. seems a decent striker of the ball, though i wouldn't say he has a cultured right foot. 20m seems a decent price as well.

His best league haul before this season overall is 5 goals. I'd wait and see before spunking out the 25-50m that Fio want.

I agree G89.

He has the fancy dribbles but I don't see many incisive passes. And he doesn't look like a prolific goal scorer either

Guess he'll be an alright sub for theo on the right wing.

He looks dangerous. Think Barca will have him to replace Alves

I'd say gervinho is better at beating a man and keeping them beaten. cuadrado looks easier to read

We are definitely interested in him. But then so are Barca and Bayern. Hoping the Dani Alves banana incident pushes him to join Arsenal in PL.

He'd be a brilliant signing as he can play both right back and right wing thus giving us more options. We've been linked for a couple of seasons now before he came into the limelight so there's some suggestion that Wenger is a long term admirer.

We have many more pressing needs such as signing a striker, a holding midfielder, a replacement for Sagna, a replacement for Fabianski before forking out 20-30m for a better version of Gervinho.

Currently we have Walcott, Chamberlain, Podolski, Cazorla vying for the wide-spots and that's before the likes of Wilshere who's unlikely to get as much game time in central positions as he'd like and a genuine talent in Gnabry. I don't see how anyone can justify spending money on this guy.

I know Di Marzio linked him to us last September. We have definately been intrested. Thought he was going to Barca though, so no idea why all these links have been popping up.

eh? This guy is not only about speed - he can really control the ball and does well to weave his way out and past anything

He can shoot the ball for one. And finish.
What worries me though is the same with Gerv: can all that really stick in the PL? much of that fascinating stuff happens in situations you don't get in the PL (when Gerv got here we saw endless footage of him doing magic, top scorer, etc.). But he does look very interesting.

Yes but he's more obvious with his motion

You can't read gervinho - he just moves his hips and is gone. I've not seen anyone quite as good as gervinho in leaving defenders for dead

He just can't shoot
