Basically if we maintain the level we’re at we’ll win the league within the next 5 years. We are still improving too.

I’d also say that in my book we are favourites for the Champions League along with Madrid.

You know Ange is disrespected when week in week out every manager says how much they admire him and the football he plays. He is just not taken seriously.

Also this part that Slot said made me laugh so bad. "I am not one to question Ange and the results he is having. Afterall normally every manager, even at smaller clubs have a chance to win something. But he is at a club that in their history is used to not winning anything, so he should not be judged on that."

goon Some of you lot just need to admit you don’t like Arteta and never will and we can all stop going around in circles wasting each others time.

QFT

Sky talking about Liverpools attacking options but really it's just Salah and Diaz. The rest of them have done fuck all. None of their other attackers have outscored Trossard for instance.

Qwiss I thought Henry's analysis of them vs us was spot on in MNF.

He says when he sees Liverpool he sees a team that tries to win it. When he see other teams, he see that they are mostly trying not to lose it.

Clrnc I mean they're a bit more gung ho than we are but I don't think that's the real difference. Wait and see how Slot does playing like that next year without Salah. Arteta could do with loosening things sometimes but only sometimes. The way we play works for big games. We just need to exert more pressure on those low and mid block teams. I think this summers recruitment was a bigger issue than our play style.

Qwiss right, but everyone sitting on this forum today talking about Liverpool demolishing Spurs and using it as a stick to beat Arteta with is ignoring two things in my view.

      1) we beat Crystal Palace 5-1 yesterday. It's the third time we've done this away from home in a month.

      2) when Arteta took over, WE were the team getting beaten 5-1 by Liverpool, by City.

Arteta hasn't lost to City since April 2023, he hasn't lost to Liverpool in the league since before then, he hasn't lost to Chelsea since one of his first games here. Okay, we're still sketchy at Old Trafford for some reason, but we now go into big games and can look forward to them. Actually, we can look forward to all games with a degree of confidence.

What was that thread we used to have "Arsenal, ruining weekends since..."?

We've had three bad weekends this year. That's it. I want Arsenal to be better, I want us to go everywhere and dominate, but I can also see that Liverpool ruining Spurs weekends shouldn't be a stick to beat Arteta with.

I typed that without having seen the final score... 😳

        Qwiss

The difference in media narrative is crazy.

We beat West Ham 5-2 and Palace 5-1 and all Neville and Carragher could talk about is how we nearly let them back in it.

Liverpool concede 3 and you get ‘professional performance’ thrown about like there were no flaws.

RocktheCasbah but everyone sitting on this forum today talking about Liverpool demolishing Spurs and using it as a stick to beat Arteta with is ignoring two things in my view.

This is really not right. We are all discussing the merits of having Liverpool's kind of attack and wants the shackles to be released a little so we can improved. Most of the posts above has 0 mentioned of Arteta. Then people start getting defensive and views it as a stick to beat Arteta and whatnot. It isn't. You can think Arteta is the right man for the job and also think he isn't perfect.

We discuss about why our counters are not as effective and the first replies we get to that "we scored 5 goals yesterday within a calendar year blabla, you can't discuss that" etc lol.

          Clrnc really?

Someone else must have said this, then.

Clrnc One thing for sure, we need more instinctive moves from the players. They are overly coached, very little one touch stuffs unlike Liverpool. We often take too many touches and roboting the moves.

That's also why our counters are terrible

What is calling our players "overly coached" if not a criticism of the coach?

Maybe read back what you said before you reply next time mate.

RocktheCasbah so you inferred that it was a criticism of Arteta based on that 3 words? So if I said our corners are excellent, means it praising Arteta? Never knew it was a one man coaching team.

Anyway I stand by what I said, it wasn't meant for what you are overreacting it to be. It was a simple observation but you do you I guess.

What does over-coached even mean? @Clrnc please explain at what point a team is over coached?

Clrnc you're something else, truly. 🤣

Who are you blaming for the team being "overly coached", if not Arteta?

Albert Air Pods, Carlos Cuesta, or Nico Jover? Come on, I think we should know...

For the record, I don't have a problem with you saying the team is overly coached, if that's what you think. I don't agree with you, but I'm sure we will continue to disagree, well, about most things Arsenal related and that's okay.

I do have a problem with you pretending you meant something else (and that I'm overreacting) when you said it.

Qwiss the actual Ballon d’or had him outside the top 20 this year lol

And somehow Vinicius thought he was robbed

Gazza M This. I had posted something similar in another thread around Liverpool's ability to consistently bring in attacking talent over the last 15 years while we all wring our hands that no one is available - dating all the way back to Torres. Even when they were yo-yoing up and down the table under Rodgers, this was the case. It's perhaps why VVD and Allisson have been critical to their success since this was the area of the pitch most neglected historically.

Bernard Woolley I think we were an equal or better attacking force during the Torres years. we still had cesc-rvp then. it shifted from the suarez years onwards. they have hit greater attacking heights than us under 3 different managers now
