Tam My big frustration about all of this is our style and shape. We talk about how we have a pipeline of talent coming through Hale End that are schooled in a certain style that flows through all the age groups right into the first team, but then we seem to struggle with consistency of identity and style in the first team squad as soon as we're missing key players from the first team. That's not isolated to this season and the new signings, it's been evident throughout Arteta's time here that he's not been able to forge any sort of strong identity outside of his trusted core players.

I think thats a fair criticism.

Tam I'm not denying players need time to settle, but we're halfway into the season and still talking of needing time to see things come together. Sunderland came up through the playoffs, signed quite a few players, and are flying (relatively) in the league. Palace have lost key players and are doing well. Everton have integrated new players well. It shouldn't be so difficult to settle new players into a team with three consecutive second place finishes.

I don't think this is fair. Teams integrate differently and the likes of Everton are in a very different situation where its easier to bring in upgrades. I also think its a bit short termist and while those teams have done well the likes of Sunderland and Palace are much less likely to maintain their form than we are. Comparing them to us isn't really apples to oranges. Not to mention we are top of the table with these new players, its not like they've been bad, its just they can be better.
