These stats align with what I'm seeing in the national team too, where this bloke dominates Isak in basically the same way across every attacking metric.

This is the maddest one for me. 222 time more progressive passes received than the next best. Crazy.

Big Willie the one that stands out for me is the +38 shots on target. He’s buying himself an extra 5-7 goals over the next guy just by doing this. Shot generation is a massive attribute.

Sicario2 A fair few Bayern fans all still rate him and want him to stay. They aren't so kind to the likes of Gnabry and Coman. Say he is injured a lot but is a big game player and when he plays he gives it his all. Say in recent months he has been good, he might be pulling a Partey and playing for that new contract 😆

Don Pacifico For a free transfer and to add depth, we still need a RW + CF no matter what but I think we are short on numbers and if we spend big on those two positions finances may be stretched.

Must admit I’m a fan of Sane. He was brilliant at City. However I’m definitely put off by recent experiences with Sterling and the likes

lorddulaarsenal He made a good impression on me towards the end in England too, but I went and looked up his last good season for City: it was in early 2019! Brexit hadn't happened yet. Nwaneri wasn't even born!

According to transfermarkt 17 G/A in 1634 minutes last season in league games. That is a G/A every 96 mins, I'm not saying we should build our attack around him but for a free transfer and extra depth that isn't bad. He is 29 but injury prone, so always the risk he could physically drop quickly.

I also think his agent is linking him to us to get a deal out of Bayern...

sane was also linked to spurs a few days ago. think it's just his agent putting stories about. I like sane but I want someone younger and hungrier

I agree that I dont really fancy Sane, but i dont think he's our main target. I see him more of a Trossard type signing, someone that can add depth in a position where we need depth (on the wings). I still think we'll see someone like Williams come as well. I don't think Sane could possibly be anywhere near as bad as Sterling was this year.

Doesn't matter. It's a competitive market, so we need to pay what it takes. Sometimes the sign-on bonus is a way to manage the wage structure by paying the difference between what the club is willing to pay vs what the player wants as a sign-on bonus so as to not break the club's wage structure. I'd be shocked if some of our existing players also don't make a sign-on bonus when they renew.

Most, if not all, players these days have some sort of signing or loyalty bonus as part of new deals. It's generally not paid as one lump sum but spread across the contract, sometimes paid on an annual basis or on milestones, sometimes paid monthly/weekly.

cynical take - this is a massive signing bonus (12m Euros over 5 years equates to an additional 50k euros a week, which is a significat money on top of his 140k euros a week). I suspect we have hidden an agent fee in this bonus, so we don't report agent fees but still make Hasan happy
