I think the reason Arteta loves Williams so much is that he does work hard OOP but if we can’t get him, I think I’d rather get a true transition monster like Leao or Gittens than someone like Rodrygo. We need a dribbler on the left that truly scares teams and prevents them from selling out on stopping Saka.

Burnwinter from what I’ve read (and who knows if it’s true), if we can get Zubimendi over the line prior to June 1st then it counts for last seasons financial reporting and wouldn’t eat into this summers budget. I think that’s also why we are okay with just paying the lump sum release clause since we clearly had money left from last summer.

Even if true, all that means is part of the amortization counts for last season meaning it will end 1 year earlier. It will still count for each year of his contract and affect PSR by that fraction (total divided by number of years) each year.

Budget-wise should not have any impact either way beyond what I mentioned earlier. Our budget is what we decide we can use whilst staying within our own risk parameters if how close/far we want to get to the PSR ceiling.

Edit: And by the way what's all this talk about buying before June 1st etc. Even the exceptional Club World Cup window doesn't even open before then so it's not even possible to sign anyone before then, right?

Big Willie I was going to add that I have no idea how we can buy before June 1st but forgot to- it's a great point. Regardless, I'm glad we are going to wrap up this signing as I do think he's going to be a big piece of the squad next year and now we can focus on the attacking signings.

1) Transfer agreement: this is agreement of a transfer amongst the player and his new/old clubs. This can happen at any time of the year. Even in February or March
2) Registration: this can only happen during specific dates, what we typically refer to as 'the transfer window'.

Now that most domestic seasons are over, teams are stepping up transfer agreements, and they will register players during the 2 windows this summer

Acquiring assets and registering players are different things. The accounting will follow the date of the transaction, we'll just be unable to register him until the transfer window opens.

For a free transfer I think he'd be a good signing. Seen some Bayern fans talk about him and think he get an unfair rep, one of their important players and Bayern are trying hard to keep him.

Sicario2 A fair few Bayern fans all still rate him and want him to stay. They aren't so kind to the likes of Gnabry and Coman. Say he is injured a lot but is a big game player and when he plays he gives it his all. Say in recent months he has been good, he might be pulling a Partey and playing for that new contract 😆

Don Pacifico For a free transfer and to add depth, we still need a RW + CF no matter what but I think we are short on numbers and if we spend big on those two positions finances may be stretched.

He's always been undervalued because he's just casual as fook but ridiculously talented.

The fear is now he's casual as fook and over valued. At his age you need to train like an absolute demon. His natural talent isn't going to cut it.

To be fair word at city was Jesus was the best player in the team in training. But suffered with a lack of confidence in games. Wenger always and he was correct that the number one striker at the club gets confidence from being the no1. Like all our strikers under him explode when they're first choice not second choice.

Jesus with his all round ability was miles better than the players we had at the time. It would have been mad not to make that signing. Like our points totals with him up top were more than decent when you look through the squad and see the shit that was behind him. Injuries have knackered him but let's be fair to the guy. He was special.
