samthegooner from what I’ve read (and who knows if it’s true), if we can get Zubimendi over the line prior to June 1st then it counts for last seasons financial reporting and wouldn’t eat into this summers budget.
Even if true, all that means is part of the amortization counts for last season meaning it will end 1 year earlier. It will still count for each year of his contract and affect PSR by that fraction (total divided by number of years) each year.
Budget-wise should not have any impact either way beyond what I mentioned earlier. Our budget is what we decide we can use whilst staying within our own risk parameters if how close/far we want to get to the PSR ceiling.
Edit: And by the way what's all this talk about buying before June 1st etc. Even the exceptional Club World Cup window doesn't even open before then so it's not even possible to sign anyone before then, right?
