God what a joke 😂😂😂 how can they be so precious? I'm sure Haaland really doesn't give a shit. Can't even celebrate goals anymore. I like the Zen celebration had no idea Haaland had a copyright over it and no one else is allowed to do it 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Haaland was laughing when Gabriel was shouting at him, he probably loves this shit. Top players thrive from rivalries.

Claudius

I loved this whole episode. From Haaland chucking it to Arteta, Gabriel and MLS, to MLS and Gabriel getting payback. It was a great subplot to a growing rivalry. The whole humble thing is one of the best plots I've seen since Kepa refused to come off for Sarri.

Here is the official Premier League Twitter page laughing about Maupay and in this clip is him mimicking a celebration.

JazzG reading the article it's a nothing story really they may do something okay and they may do nothing. Also the grounds like inciting fans has always been something that could risk punishment

Just sky farming engagement stories I don't know why people get so wound up they are there to generate this stuff. Come back when it's a real proposal or they actually have a case they enforce it.

12 days later

So the ref gets the decision wrong, which has been proven by MLS red card being overturned, we react angrily and then get fined on top.

I know it doesn’t feel right given we won the appeal, but I still don’t agree with that crowding of the ref, for two reasons. Firstly, he’s never going to change his mind because he has six or seven players shouting in his face. Which leads to the second point, it can only backfire we he takes offence at our (or whoever’s) behaviour. We can’t gain and only lose from those situations.

I’d be fully behind refs bring more card happy with yellows and reds on those occasions. Walking the free kick forward ten yards for dissent too. All that of course is predicated on a level of respect between player and referee, one which players don’t have and which referees don’t deserve. So I can’t see any of it changing soon.

      100%

You have to show dissent as a team there. You have to back up your boy. It achieves nothing, but MLS won't forget, ever. That his teammates and his club stood up for him in that moment.

Tam while I generally agree, this was such an outrageous decision, on the back of several suspicious decisions against us. Crowding the referee here was the normal reaction.

I didn't feel we were overly aggressive in that instance. I think its just sour grapes from Oliver and the PGMOL because they fucked up and we complained about it.

Qwiss exactly. put yourself in the players shoes. just being on the end of yet another unfathomable decision.

Qwiss Yup, we got the decision overturned but feels like this is something to keep them happy.

        Michael Owen's such a pillock.

Someone should have challeneged Webb on this statement:

26 Jan: “PGMOL's position on the incident is the challenge is extremely late, the point of contact is high and video evidence supports that conclusion.”

18 Feb: PGMOL chief: “We would prefer a yellow card in this situation, and the VAR actually intervening.”

The problem's less than half what Webb's got to say, and more than half that he's being filmed at all, still milking this situation for profit.

PGMOL and its media allies blatantly wiggling themselves into kayfabe areas, similar to La Liga where Madrid's TV channel runs segments amounting to character assassinations on specific referees before matches.

We haven't seen anything yet, this stuff can become far more perverse.
