Bizarro Tet
Official: Mikel Arteta is the new Arsenal manager.
lmao, Arteta is a menace.
Some of this stuff seems wacky but he is happy to think outside of the box. Stopping the players from feeling too comfortable and stay alert is what I am guessing the meaning of that is.
HomeSteak Read this earlier, classic stuff. I bet this kind of thing is what got Auba out of sorts.
Surely it was just a gag rather than a serious "psychological" exercise?
Professional pick pocketers? Wtf. Is there a global league? Prob be an Olympic sport in 4 years.
Artera is a mad man. This will bring joy to our rival fans no doubt. Need to start properly winning soon so we’re not some laughing stock.
Sicario2 - Tier 1 Professional pick pocketers? Wtf. Is there a global league?
Yeah, any major European train station
Seems clear that it's just good fun.
Coombs Fun? FUN!? What on earth are they doing having fun!?
Burnwinter if you watch the Amazon doc whenever Arteta starts with his weirder stuff Auba and Laca are laughing at it. I'd say its a big reason they were binned.
Qwiss To be fair to them, arbitrary pranks like this are adjacent to weird authority trips. Not sure I'd fancy this kind of gimmick more than once.
Arteta has made us more cultish than we've ever been. Good news is it's a fairly happy and successful cult. He still has a wide stripe of that "no, brother, they'll expect one of us in the wreckage" sort of leadership.
New contract until 2027 agreed.

Real talk. If he fails to win anything this year again, will anyone be angry with him? How many season with 0 trophies are you willing to give him? Is a FA Cup enough ? Or you guys thinking it's title or bust for him?

I'd be curious to see a list of managers people would want us to replace him with. Bear in mind, a few years back people were twerking for Graham Potter and Erik ten Hag.
HomeSteak have to see how the season pans out, innit? Personally, I would find it very difficult to be cross with anything in the vicinity of last season. Obviously something around 80 points would require a trophy to make us all feel better.
RocktheCasbah I have a feeling it will be a little down this year, 80 max. So that leaves us the cups, he has an abysmal record in Europe, so he needs to fix that, we are not winning the CL anytime soon. So that leaves the internal cups for him. He has a bad record there as well, but he needs to fix that.
HomeSteak he has an abysmal record in Europe
This is the thing, one man's "abysmal" is another's "about standard for Arsenal actually"...
But yeah, I concede it could definitely be better!
Our quarter-final exit last season was par with the Invicible's, so definitely about standard for Arsenal actually.
We've won the Cup Winners Cup and Intercity Fairs Cup (predecessor to the Uefa Cup/Europa League). Not a lot to shout about.
Great stuff, guy has played a massive role in turning around this club so important he stays longer and finishes the job now.
