He definitely needs to go and I've wanted this for years, but I'm genuinely so sad to see it confirmed πŸ™

ArsΓ¨ne Wenger: β€œTo all the Arsenal lovers take care of the values of the club. My love and support for ever.”

Classy man...

I've wanted him gone for a while now, but it still made me feel sad when I read the title "Merci Arsene". I wish him well in everything, and we have to thank him for what he did, hope the Emirates will be up for the last few games. He is the only Arsenal manage I have ever known so it's kinda exicting to see who we get.

Feels like it. Hope this also results in a spring cleaning of the coaching staff over the summer. Gerry Peyton, Tony Colbert and whoever coaches our defense surely have to go.

Don't forget that fossil Primorac.

Maybe this was always the plan - get the infrastructural guys bedded in first and keep wenger on for 1 more year, as changing to entire technical staff and head coach in 1 summer was a bridge too far?

I think thats probably what happened.

Had to happen. Mixed feelings nonetheless, as expressed already by several posters. Basically everyone, except for Kel and Gurgen. πŸ˜†

Such exciting news. Finally a reason to get excited again. I feel some of my animosity dissipating because I know its finally over. Should have happened 5 years ago and his blatant and arrogant refusal to do what was clearly right for the club will always tarnish his legacy for me. Tjat said I will still appreciate everything great he brought to the club in his first 15 years or so.

Can't help but feel a bit emotional. I will always love and respect the man and have deep gratitude for his incredible service to the club I love.

However, I definitely feel a sense of relief and of excitement at the same time. If this had happened a year ago I would have had very little confidence in the club making a good appointment and pushing us forward, with the work they have done in the past 12 months, they've earned some credit from me. I think good things can come to us.

Glad and Sad to see him go. This was necessary and done a bit too late but it will be very weird having a different boss on the touchline next season.

Heartbreaking. Farewell you kind soul. Revolutionary, Visionary, deep thinker, philosophical genius of a man. A true maverick who should be held in the highest of esteem. His name will be alongside the greatest that has ever done it.

I have more to say but can't find the words right now.

It’s probably cos they start with C and are banned

Now if Kroenke relinquishes his shares of the club to someone who actually cares about Arsenal and not money, that'd make my year.

Owners like that don't exist.

Not to defend Kroenke, but I've a feeling he'll become much less of a talking point in coming years.

I feel absolutely empty right now.

I know this was supposed to be exciting and everything we wanted, but yet.

Merci, Arsene.

Those Europa league games are going to be the biggest games since the CL final in 2006.

Sad and exciting news.

Great memories. I started watching soccer and got glued to arsenal. Ironically it was after unbeaten season that I started watching. 2007 season was amazing for me but the leg break and the end!!!.

. Winning the fa cups was like a dream. I thought I am never gonna see arsenal win with Wenger. Incredible and I was always perplexed as to why he always handicapped himself going into a season. I never understood and will probably never will.

Thank you for the memories arsene. Wish you all the luck for future.

Whoever they appoint now have big shoes to fill. Excited that there is a change.

Piers Morgan is happy too. You're in good company.
