I'm worried it's going to be Luis Enrique. Apparently Raul Sanllehi is big on him

Only one home league game left. The atmosphere will be unreal at that.

Kind of surprised by the reactions here. I don't even feel a little bit of sadness, but perhaps that's because I didn't like him even in his good years.

I'm still in shock.

It's amazing how literally all the ill feeling I've had towards him gone washed away in an instant.

We need to win the fucking Europa League.

Could probably have a positive effect on our home match vs Atletico. The atmosphere is going to be electric

Did you have a heart transplant with Micheal Oliver in the past week by any chance?

It's funny. Been waiting for this day for years and yet my first reaction is sadness.

Kind of exactly how I feel now. Been such a long time I wanted him out, and although my first though was "I can't believe it. Yes, finally". However when it sunk it I just felt a bit sad. Sad about what could have been had we taken more chance, and sad that he isn't the one who would take us back to winning ways.

Thanks Arsene for all the wonderful memories xuring the first half of your tenure, and steadying the ship throughout the stadium build. Thank you for the 3 FA Cups in 4 seasons. Thank you for the brand of football you've brought us and the classy way you have (almost) always behaved in.

I'll miss him but it's definitely the right decision to make. Maybe a year or 3 too late, but it's happendd. I'm sure the support will get fully behind the team now, and the team better not fuck things up and play out of their skin for him in his last few games so we can win the CL.

Wow. Didn't expect the day to actually come and saw it as the breaking news on an NZ news site of all places. Wanted it to happen but like others my first reaction is sadness at how it ended up.

Nah I just think of the money he made while playing the likes of Denilson and Xhaka, somehow that's very sobering.

I feel so happy and yet so sad - hope this can fire the team up into smashing Atletico and making the EL a goodbye gift (as unlikely as that seems). Gazidis and Sanllehi better have a good plan!

There should be sadness, this man revolutionised the club, and English football. He has brought us some incredible times, some of which we will never see again, like the unbeaten season.

Life evolves, and so does football, and over the last 10 years he has been found incredibly wanting. For me this is a simple question of where do you see the club? If you see Arsenal as a club that should be challenging for the title, then the answer is simple.

Now let us get behind the team and the man and give him the send off he deserves!!!!

Heartbreaking. Farewell you kind soul. Revolutionary, Visionary, deep thinker, philosophical genius of a man. A true maverick who should be held in the highest of esteem. His name will be alongside the greatest that has ever done it.

I have more to say but can't find the words right now.

Hopefully but it is Arsenal. It would be a nice touch.

Im personally delighted. Excited about trying something different.

A weird feeling. Wonder if he'll retire or not. Maybe France or PSG?

Over the last 9 years, I have hated listening to his ramblings in press conferences / other forums, as it was difficult to make out when he was talking from his heart and what was just pure convenience to hide the last shambolic performance. The greatest freedom from this announcement is the ability to listen to a truly intelligent, thoughtful and articulate person and just appreciate his words and thoughts and not try and read between the lines.

Maybe this was always the plan - get the infrastructural guys bedded in first and keep wenger on for 1 more year, as changing to entire technical staff and head coach in 1 summer was a bridge too far?

Feels like it. Hope this also results in a spring cleaning of the coaching staff over the summer. Gerry Peyton, Tony Colbert and whoever coaches our defense surely have to go.
