This is a joke, surely? Why do we brief a journo of something like this? If true, where the fuck is our money?

Well that's an easy choice then. Fuck Mustafi; where's my super striker?

We'll get neither defender nor striker in this window, and it's not because we're short on money. If we were, the likes of Joel Campbell, Mathieu Debuchy and Gabriel wouldn't still be here. We'd have sold them for whatever peanuts we could get to make room in the budget for new arrivals.

Club is a joke, there could be a number of scenarios here. The deal might have fallen through and the club are getting their excuses out. They could be trying to force them to knock the price down.

We have a bunch of fucking clowns running this club, from top to bottom clueless. Every year we have to put up with the same, we have over £250m in the bank how the fuck is £30m for him going to screw us up? Have felt for a while more sinister things at play, I have said for a while in my opinion I don't think Kroenke has any intention of touching that cash as he is using it to leverage other deals.

Mind games to get Valencia to sell Mustafi 2m cheaper.

We are run by actual fucking clowns, right?

At least this confirms we're going for a "madness" expensive striker.

We're probably trying to get Real to sell us Benzema again. That ended well last time.

I'd get this donw then try for the mega striker. Otherwise we could end up empty handed.

Such incompetence. Just pay the fee ffs. We have the money and are desperate. Kjær and Toprak as alternatives? Fuck off.

If kroenke was willing to give Wenger the money he should just say that the cash is there but we can't use it for whatever reason. Instead we are told we are able to compete with anyone, the change our tune when the fees get inflated unsurprisingly for the umpteenth year. Arsene is going to have a fan and player mutiny if we go for a long time with a defence that contains one of chambers or holding alongside kos for the entire year. That's allowing kos zero time out as well high is a crazy gamble.

If mustafi is our choice then just work to get the deal sealed. I'm sure Valencia like Villarreal have another guy in mind for when he leaves as that is the business model for these clubs.

we could spend £80m on a striker and £30m on a defender tomorrow and still have one of the highest cash reserves in the premier league.

our club is run by a bunch of incompetent shit gargling dildos. the fucking manager sets valuations for players in the transfer market. other clubs must laugh at the way we do business.

i seriously hope this entire club gets gutted once the manager finally decides to leave in 8 years

you would think everyone knows at this point that transfer fees aren't paid up front and are paid out over 3-4 years.

thats only partially true. from an accounting perspective, the transfer fee is spread over the course of the first contract signed by the player. but in some cases, the fee is paid up front entirely. for larger transfers, it is normally broken down into 2 or 3 chunks. if we paid £75m for james rodriguez, for instance, and he signed a 4 year deal, we'd put £18.75m of the fee on the books for the next 4 years, but we'd probably pay madrid in 2 installments. something like £40m this summer and £35m next summer.

Omer Toprak and Kjaer is our backup plan. Are we in 2010?

We should have signed Williams for £12m if money is an issue. The clubs excuses are bullshit.

The club is a real embarrassment at the moment.

May be so that we are conducting ourselves well but the management sure aren't excelling in the PR department

I have to agree, it's a joke the way we've conducted our dealings the past few seasons.

It seems like a false economy to me, what, exactly, are we saving our money for? The more we go on like this and don't address our issues then our global fan base diminishes, we sell less merchandise, we go out of competitions earlier,we lose our best players, we lose more money.

We've suffered being 2-3 class signings short every season since the invincibles in my opinion, and  possibly the writing was on the wall going all the way back to the Ashley Cole saga.

All very well being a secure, stable rich club, and we've always been a little conservative with our dealings, but time has moved on, we have the reserves and our fans money is not being used for what we need most to sustain success, quality players. I find that offensive to us, the supporters.

Clubs want the vast majority of the money upfront nowadays.

Every £ we save on not spending this year will be worth less in next year's window. It's been like that for quite a long time, but no one has seemed to notice it or give us a nudge on these fees and player valuations.

the funniest part* is that our manager is an economics graduate but has no forward looking vision when it comes to economics. someone supposedly as smart as him should have seen the increasing tv revenues over the last decade and how that would impact spending, not to mention the foreign investing in clubs like chelsea, man city and psg, which aren't a new thing over the last 2-3 years. instead, he appears to still be angling to spend money that would have made sense in 2008.

we are so penny wise and pound foolish. if valencia wanted £25m and we were comfortable paying £16m (just a guess), that is a £9m difference. it is understandable to not want to crumble to every selling side and accept the first offer. however, we could have compromised and said £23m, paid up front, and paid immediately. spending above our valuation by a few million pounds won't even matter when you consider the huge increase in tv money this year and what is to come over the next 2-3 seasons. if you factor in our £200m cash reserves, £8m pounds is about 4% of our cash balance. 4 fucking percent.

and the tangible benefit to doing the deal right away would be allowing mustafi more time to settle at the club, more time to be tactically prepared** and it would allow our young, inexperienced players to be eased in instead of being thrown to the fucking wolves by our savage manager.

this club cant see the forest for the trees, and at this point, i wish they'd just call it a day and stop embarrassing themselves. it hurts being an arsenal supporter right now, and im thousands of miles away from the people spending huge chunks of money to go and watch this steaming pile of shit week in and week out.

  • most severely fucking depressing part
** hahahah sorry, we dont do tactics, i was just having a larf

Supposedly money had nothing to do with it. Medical and flights were all booked and paid for, but the player backed out in the last minute. Now the club have probably fed Ornstein this saving money for striker line to not look rejected.
