Just realized how amazing our midfield depth would be if we managed to sign both. Wilshere, Santi, El Nenny, Coq and Rabiot. World class midfield to be honest.

😆 I'm actually going to add rep to you for leaving Ramsey out of that list. A-grade trolling.

Well I do want him on the wing, remember. :saint: At least with the options our team has barring injuries of course.

😆 Thanks man, though I do feel +1 isn't doing me justice after I unfairly got -4 for my spot on prediction.

+1 ain't good enough for you?

Nah man, we're cool.

You misunderstood me. Happens.

Rabiot better than Ramsey 😆

There is nothing laughable about that statement. Ramsey is perhaps the better player currently but Rabiot is 5 years younger and talented enough to be one of the best midfielders of his generation. Comparing them is irrelevant though as they have different qualities and would both play together if he were to join us.

Ramsey is comfortably better now.

Elneny and Rabiot replacing Flamini and Arteta. That sounds so much better.

Have you watched Elnemy and Arabist regularly?
Personally, I feel Flamini has acquitted himself well. Apart from the odd I'll-advised karate chop, he's been very useful.

Flamini has been much better than expected one on one but defensively his positioning is poor every single game and in attack he doesn't ever show for the ball costing us a passing option. He is 3rd choice and he plays like one, we need better though. If we want to progress, we really can't be happy with the midfield situation as it's right now.

Let's say Rabiot does not improve one bit in future, where would he rank among Arsenal midfielders? Would he still be actually useful for us?

I spent September to November living in French West Africa. Over there, Ligue 1, and not the Premier League, is the main show. I must've watched about 6 PSG games in that period. Rabiot must've played about 3 of those games, and while he was solid, he barely stood out as the next big thing. Meanwhile, the regulars there were something to pleasure oneself to - especially Verratti and Matuidi. Verratti has missed about a third of this season's games, but has always looked otherworldly when playing.

My sense right now is that Rabiot is mainly hype. The potential evidently is there, but he's not going to come in and elevate our starting 11 immediately.

Btw, the Ligue1 guy to get if you want immediate impact would be Ben Arfa. I have seen him flat out embarrass multiple defenders on numerous occasions this year. We lack the ability to drive at defenders. As much as Ramsey got pilloried for his miss in the dying minutes of the Newcastle contest, I enjoyed seeing him take the initiative. Ben Arfa does this for fun. Plus he now has some end product as well. Easily, easily an upgrade over Campbell, Ox, etc (guys who are getting significant minutes this season).

Rabiot is much better than Flamini and that is what's important right now. He's young as well. Would be a good signing.

Ben Arfa has been in great form this season but that's only because he's the main man at Nice, he's about 28 now no chance of him establishing himself at a top club playing a clear defined role. He's also injury prone, inconsistent and a bit of a dumbass.

Seems to me you need a new Atlas Claude, might come as a shock but that country doesn't exist anymore.

Thought his mummy is not the agent anymore?

Either way, i want this kid at Arsenal.

His mum is his agent? 😆

Why is that funny?
