Exactly. Stick to my words and you'll go far

But they do have McCarthy, an amazing player we should've bought to partner Ramsey in midfield. No, no, I'm not saying this because I'm Irish.

Add Lukaku in the mix and we would've walked league.

We, as a team, miss a functional central midfield. Not the same thing IMO.

Swallow your pride, Rex. You've made 40k posts telling us that Ramsey is better than Cazorla, and what not. At least admit that he's by far our best CM whether he's your typical CM or not.

Since we started playing Santi in CM:

    United 1-2 Arsenal

    Santi Coq
    Ox Özil Alexis
    Welbz

    Arsenal 3-0 United

    Santi Coq
    Rambo Özil Alexis
    Theo

    United 3-2 Arsenal

    Coq Ramsey
    Welbz Özil Alexis
    Theo

    United 1-1 Arsenal

    Coq Elneny
    Theo Özil Rambo
    Alexis

Look at our last 4 results against United, with Santi we perform, without him we, simply put, suck.

Coq, Mesut, Alexis played all 4.

Ramsey played 3, in our best game vs them he played RW, in our worst he played CM in a partnership you, Rex, were gloating and murdering Wenger for not trying because it would be soooo good. Yesterday he played LW, where we all knew he would suck, not on him.

Santi however played in our two wins vs them, where he arguably was MOM in both.

Terrific player. Sad to see the ongoing agenda against some of our best players.

We came up against a midfield of Herrera and a 35year old Carrick and still managed to lose control of the midfield.

We had two jokers in midfield, what did you expect? Carrick and Herrera are much better footballers and can actually pass forward unlike our two mugs.

Elneny-Coq has to be up there with the very worst midfield we've had under Wenger. I remember even Denilson absolutely bossing it at OT a couple years ago.

They wouldn't look out of place at some French middle club like Toulouse.

  • What a shocking thread. 😆

Putting the blame on one player. NONE of our players perform away from home in big matches. What did Sanchez do?

This game was made for him to fail, two absolute hopeless midfielders in possession and Sanchez with Ramsey crowding the middle there was no room for him to do anything. Terrible tactics by Wenger.

Xhaka's positioning was all over the place, especially in the first half. Hilarious how I have to point this out, can't believe some people here are fucking unable to fucking see that

It couldn't have been that fucking bad if he managed 5 tackles to the "excellent" Coquelin's 1.

Incredibly overrated by some people, Coquelin. Super average in most aspects of the game.

  • Sergio Roberto getting murdered by Sevilla, fault at goal too. Yet in some corners on here you'll hear that he's better than Bellerin.

  • Xhaka was miles better than Coquelin. Hilarious how the latter is praised by the same people over and over again despite putting in another nothing performance today. What did he actually do? Absolutely fuck all.

We didn't start with Coquelin and El Neny because it's a bang average midfield worthy of some club like Watford. It offers fine proctetion and nothing else, going forward it's as bland as a midfield can be, lots of sideways passes and little else. Can't believe I'm having to point this out. 😆

Xhaka passing however is top notch, especially between the lines. Finds the likes of Mesut over and over again. He should start every game.

he's done well but i feel his contributions have been a little overstated

Don't think so. The lad is honestly a world beater, he just oozes class and intelligence, on the same wave length as Özil, Santi, Alexis, etc. in combinations and link-up play at the age of just 20. Give him any kind of ball at his feet and he'll kill it with his first touch, and before you know he's already made his next move. He's one of the main reasons we can maintain the pressure around the opposition's box at such a high level this season. We're drowning in big chances created.

Give me Iwobi over some thick twat like Martial or one-trick pony like Rashford any day of the week.

  • Where is Claudius? He was bricking himself by the Pogba signing and after they beat Hull 1-0 in the last second, basically handed them the title after 3 games.

Ibra is truly not even better than Giroud at this point, what a cumbersome donkey.

  • Our attacking atm is the most exciting in Europe to watch. Not having the oaf there certainly seems to help. Loving it.

  • Ospina
    Bellerin Mus Kos Gibbs
    Xhaka Elneny
    Theo Santi Iwobi
    Perez

Should be enough. We have a great chance for 1st place, and normally would want us to play our best players, but surely we can afford resting them against some plodders from Bulgaria. Alexis and Mesut have played many games and will play many more as well as for their national team, so rest them when the possibilty is there.

Less infuriating if you look at the context. Leicester's defeats have come away from home and 3 days before their Cl games. Mahrez didn't even start against Chelsea today.

Meanwhile we played them in their first home game of the season when their optimism was at its highest. It's not as simple as saying we threw the game away. We should have had a better squad, no doubt, but the circumstances for Leicester have changed since we played them

Spot on. Besides Leicester at home will take many points against our rivals once they get going again.

I think the Pool loss was timely reality check for us and it's had a positive effect. I'm also not sure the club would have desperately pushed through deals for Mustafi and Perez if we'd had a flawless start. Wenger would have probably continued playing Chambers or Holding alongside Kos.

Bullshit mate. Bids for Vardy and Lacazette were made early in the summer, and we were in for Mustafi weeks before the Liverpool game. We were always going to sign an attacker and defender.

I was infuriated as much as anyone by our lack of transfer activity before the season started and the two first results, but context is needed. We got 2 major injuries at CB, our key players came late from the Euros, where we even had to rush one of them, and he got, unsurprisingly, injured. On top of that Mustafi was actually injured himself, so buying him before the season wouldn't have helped.

Looking back at those 2 results annoys me to no end, espcially the Liverpool game, but things are looking great now.

Santi plays with both feet and it's sometimes annoying because he consistently wastes corners taken with his left foot and doesn't get much lift on it.

That's such a weird criticism. He doesn't even know which is his stronger foot.

    It's quite evidently his right.

I agree wtih General, his corners with his left are disgusting, let Mesut take them if he has to use his left.

I hope he manages to bounce back successfully from the Burnley match. He was really poor and its important that a young player manages to come back from it.

He wasn't that bad. Don't see any reason for concern. Just one game too.

  • So because Theo said those things we had an average performance?

It had nothing to do with Burnley having an incredible record of conceding just 5 goals in thei last 17 home matches? Or wasn't the last time we played there enough proof that we'd have another tough match in our hands? Beating Liverpool and keeping a clean sheet?

But no, Theo jinxed it... 😆

  • Schneiderlin 😆 One for Rex that guy. Terrible footballer.

  • Claudius was loving the United hype after they bought the dab-merchant and beat the likes of Bournemouth and Hull. Wonder where he stands now.

Next few 4 fixtures for United include Leicester, Pool, and Chelsea. Interesting if they can fluke any results here, but more likely they'll get very little out of those games.

  • Lol, you guys really must hate Gabriel. He has time on his hands, he can still come good.

Per on the hand is finished, is his contract up next summer? Watch us extend it for absolutely no reason.

  • Anything below 7/10 is treason. We've had a fantastic window.

Mustafi, Xhaka and Perez is as good as it gets in this window. Find me better players at reasonable prices, it's not possible. Holding looks like a gem as well.

Should've signed another attacker up front or wide but in reality we're stocked in those positions.

    8/10 for me.
