Surprises me that you see the value of Rosicky but don't like Wilshere's game. Seem to do the same functions with equally limited success rates but very easy on the eye. This season wilshere had cut down on his blind alley runs too. Poor bastard just needs to be injury free.

i wouldn't really agree that wilshere's game is similar to rosicky's, but i'd argue they're about equally valuable to the team.  meaning, wilshere is a squad player whose market value is prob >20m but his actual value is more like 5-10m.  his defending is bad, his attacking play is overrated, his passing is nothing special and his overall play is immature.  i'd realise that surplus value and put it into a DM, GK or CF.

i'm sure i'll get shat on by the fanboys here, but imo, james milner is a better player than wilshere.  he's more skillful than his reputation and he is better at helping his team win.

Wilshere is only 23 years old and has suffered some horrendous injuries. Milner is 29. Of course he is going to be inconsistent and immature and giving up on him and selling him now, taking into account that he's home grown, would be one of the daftest things ever.

Think I have Gundogan in the anti-wishlist. Think he is totally wrong for us.

Not back to his best but from what I've read he is improving.  After such a long lay off this season is just about getting games and building his fitness levels up.

Especially if you're as fat as he was.

Indeed. Ridiculous physique. Only way he should be a sportsman is if he's batting no.4 for Derbyshire.

Getting back to his old self. Close control, vision and passing is there, he just needs to work on his fitness and adjust to the pace of the game again.

Yep, seen quite a lot of Dortmund this season. He's been good but not vintage Gundogan yet. Doesn't help he's mainly played alongside average players like Kehl recently, looked ace alongside Sahin (who has been injured for weeks now).

I'd be over the moon if we pulled off this transfer.

Rumour had it he was on some steroid drugs to help sort out his back problems and was getting such bad back spasms he was unable to play or do any kind of fitness work. So not entirety surprising if he did bloat up a bit during that time. But it looks like his injury problems are behind him and hopefully he can get fully up to speed again.

Yeah whatever. The boy just fucking loves cake. That's all there is to it.

I guess Forsythe should know Gundogan's injuries and general health/fitness very well.

How is Gundogan defensively? Would Ramsey and Gundogan midfield basis be secure enough?

Nothing wrong with a bit of cake!

Against lesser teams it would suffice but against top sides you'd want a recognised DM in there. He is good defensively, good tackler and decent at intercepting play.

Gündogan puts in a shift defensively but I too am curious whether he can be play a pivot for us. He typically plays next to Sahin/Kehl/etc but I think he could learn the position.

Gündogan-Ramsey-Özil, Coquelin-Gündogan-Ramsey - two potentially excellent MF units there. Coquelin-Gündogan-Özil when Ramsey is inevitably injured again.

It's not happening that we are reverting back to playing without a proper defensive midfielder I reckon. Coquelin has shown us, and Wenger, how much better the team is with a player like him in it. Gundogan would primarily compete with Ramsey, Wilshere and Cazorla from the players we have now, and then I'd be more than happy to steer clear.
