• The Houseboat
  • Radamel Falcao (Combined cost OF wages AND loan fee is 20M)

If he was on loan here would he have to fall under UK tax law or could we pay Monaco a fee and they continue to pay his wages under their taxes? Because to get him to his gross take home with British vs Monaco taxes would a massive difference wouldn't it?

Supposedly Falcao is on around 11.4m a year. Obviously we aren't going to pay all of that realistically and smash our wage structure on a loan deal. Not many clubs would be able to afford Monaco wages anyway, and they seem to want him out.

if it's a loan deal, you don't really "smash you wage structure". If you are a football team with no striker, you need to do something about it.

QS, good point. To remain whole under British tax law, he'd need to earn 450,000 pounds a week. It's madness actually. Meh

20 million for a loan? 😆

😆 As Roy Keane would say: They can stick that up their bollocks!

Guardian reports it's a 20m combined for loan AND WAGES

As I said earlier with my comparison of purchasing a player in his prime that it's a fair price.

We aren't talking about just some decent player- Falcao has bagged a minimum of 34 in 4 seasons prior to that lengthy injury hit season at Monaco. His european record is 46 in 56.

Think the amount of time he'd spend in the UK means he'd have a taxable presence here thus meaning UK income tax must be paid

Does anybody know why this falcao loan deal rumour started. It's been around all summer. Linking him to different clubs. Why would Monaco be looking to loan there best player?

Potentially we could sign him on £1 per week deal and Monaco could pay him his normal wages in a lump sum out of the 20m loan fee.

Because the whole thing was always supposed to be a 1-year money laundering "loan" before he goes to Madrid, like James was.

But something might have changed due to the injury or the fake age thing. Right now the fact is that Benzema has signed a new deal with Madrid and we dont know where it leaves Falcao.

Money laundering ? Please explain more. How does signing James for 45 and selling him to real for 75 help real ?
Or are Monaco the only ones involved in the money laundering ?

The Guardian reports that THE 20M INCLUDES WAGES

Wow, the Guardian needs new subs. Random bits of all caps bold text creeping into their copy.

I'm done with caring about getting good value. Pay the man his exorbitant wages because he's twenty times better than anything we have to pick from currently.

£20m plus his massive wages? No thanks!

Yeah, £20m fee is crazy. The thing you have to remember is that he's on massive wages too, so he could cost £30m or more for one year. No thanks.

He's on £20m a year wages too? Jesus, it's even more ridiculous than I thought.

20 including wages? We should be all over that for a season long loan, he could win us the league

This one be a Wenger madness to end all Wenger madness a madness so mad that even we think it's a madness too far (except for G89 🙂 )
