Ronaldo can be extremely driven while also not puilling a sulk if his team mate who hasn't scored in 3 years manages to nick a goal.

Who says he's sulking and unhappy about his team mate?

He's probably unhappy at not scoring himself.

If Reyes who had all the talent in the world and had Ronaldo's determination he'd be some player too.

I remember Reyes was considered a better player at one time.

Stunning header. Absolutely world class.

Pretty outrageous header from that angle. One of the best headers I have seen and he has scored a few like this!

No one said that.

He was sulking because he didn't score. It's no big deal and I can understand why he did it, but I don't see it as the reason why he's the player he is today.

Comparisons with Reyes and Nani are neither here nor there.

His header against Roma back in his United days was ridiculous.

I think if you look at the amount of talent all 3 players have for me the comparison is there.

Beyond that it's discipline, hunger and hard-work which makes the difference.

Sanchez isn't the most complete player either but his sheer desire probably contributes significantly to his productivity.

Not sure how Sevilla did not at least get a point out of this. They were brilliant.

Ronaldo. That's how.

Yep. Reckon they could smash every English team to pieces on current form.

Though Saints are of course better... 😆 😆

What?

There were a couple who said Sevilla wouldn't even with Southampton or something along the lines IIRC.

Anyway, for all of Ronaldo's goals, Messi is just on another level. Vision, passes, everything he's better.

Without knowing the formulas for attack score, defence score, and possession score, it's kind of meaningless. They're fairly even on the other stats, which are also influenced by role and team structure.

who cares about these hundreds of numbers
Ronaldo scores 1.32 goals and gets 0.47 assists
Messi scores 1.16 goals and gets 0.52 assists

really neither here nor there. Both guys basically get twice as many goals and assists as any top forward should

Goals and assists isn't enough, there's much more to football than that. It doesn't take more than watching them to see that Messi is far ahead. Take away all of Messi's goals and assists, and he's still a better version of Iniesta when he was the second best player in the world. Ronaldo can thank God that too many people only use stats when comparing the two.

Quincy, Ronaldo is a different player. More of a power player who gets on the end of things or takes on players. A much better aerial threat than anyone on our team for example. Messi is more of a Masia player who likes to be involved in the build up, and more of a creative.

Messi controls the game in every phase of play. And he's as good at getting on the end of things.

It's a bit like comparing Bergkamp and van Persie.

Messi takes on players far more than Ronaldo. And he gets on the end of things as much as Ronaldo, it's just that he does everything else too. It used to be a competition, but nowadays it's not even close. Even the Man United supporters have accepted it, it's just Real supporters left. Bergkamp/van Persie is a very good shout, General.

Went to see Barca v Villarreal in Feb and count myself extremely fortunate to have seen this Messi-Suarez-Neymar frontline in the flesh, although Suarez was a bit shit on the night.

you're dismissing a guy who over the last couple of years has scored at an unprecedented rate in history. not even close is hyperbole. it's really a preference thing between the two. numbers don't lie. not even close is Messi vs Giroud
