Ateltico's 1-0 win was the 200th game for Simeone in charge. He has won 127, 40 draws and lost only 33. They have kept an astonishing 100 clean sheets.

It's ridiculous. Proud of him. Personally, I'm looking forward to the Atletico - Barca game. If Barca win that game, they will likely confirm their league crown. If Atletico win the game, it's a great personal victory for Simeone and his players, but it likely opens the way for their rival Real Madrid to win La Liga. What would you do?

I really don't know. I would do my job probably...but I think even the fans would want them to piss off Real. Maybe it won't get to that.

Spanish league have finally changed rules to avoid having Barca and Madrid having their own TV deals.

From 2016 onwards, it will be a collective deal. They won't be able to splash money like before.

Real Madrid will still be able to splash money like United, it's not like all their money came from TV earnings.

Looking at the way the top Premier League clubs are going financially I would be concerned if I was Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern. Once the new Prem TV deal kicks in, and they negotiate the overseas deal I reckon all 4 of Englands top clubs will be making more than those 3.

It won't be just the top EPL clubs that are going to make more money from the TV deal than the continental top teams, pretty sure even QPR earned/will earn more than Bayern ffs. Bit of a false economy as the prices are pushed higher for everyone within England but most if not all clubs should still attract class players from Europe. Which makes it even more embarrassing that England will lose its fourth CL spot to Italy at the rate we're going.

7 more from barca today. claude must be disgusted. cordoba held up ok till 40 minutes, then gave up in the second half. goals against getafe were top class though, not due to bad defending.

Messi could have had a hattrick, but let Neymar take the penalty. Some contrast to Ronaldo.

ball pinging around falls to suarez--number 8.

Cordoba knew they were relegated but still that fucking hurts. 0-8.

think ronaldo will go for a hat trick today, unless he puts too much pressure on himself and doesnt keep his cool. messi overtaking him here is prolly too much for him.

No chance Ronaldo will get a hat trick today, Sevilla are unbeaten at home this season and haven't lost a game in a few months.

That was classy.

What did Ronaldo do? Anything recent or just his general demeanour?

Last match Arbeloa scored his first goal in three years or something. Ronaldo got mad because if Arbeloa hadn't scored, Ronaldo was right behind him to tap in. Then today, Messi allows Neymar to take the penalty instead of getting a hattrick. I suspect that Messi had Ronaldo's behaviour in mind when he did that. Clever stuff.

If Ronaldo wasn't that obsessed with scoring goals he'd be like Nani. That's what sets him apart.

He would not be like Nani if was happy for his teammates, no.

Ronaldo would be like Nani if he doesn't score goals? That's an outrageous suggestion 😆 Absolutely insane thoughts.

108 goals, 50 assists for MSN. Is there a better trio in world football?

Ronaldo, Benzema, Higuain, scored more goals. MSN will undoubtedly surpass them before the end of the season though.

They didn't play as a trio though?

They did for a while. MSN is much better though. Most people just look at goals when comparing, but it's much more than that. For example, the Henry - Eto'o - Messi trio scored 100+ goals, but under Guardiola they had the best midfield in the world, with Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta all in the best shape of their lives. Now Barcelona's midfield pretty much pass the ball to Messi and the three forwards do the rest all by themselves. No matter if Ronaldo, Benzema and Higuain scored a similar amount of goals, MSN is better. I'd be willing to bet a good amount of money that if you used goals + assists instead of just goals, MSN would be way ahead of the Real Madrid trio.

No, I don't think so. They have the record for the most goals scored by three players though, even though that wouldn't really be considered a "trio."

I liked the Henry - Eto'o - Messi combination for the sheer power in the front line - and Eto'o was pretty much guaranteed a goal in any final. However, the understanding between Neymar, Suarez and Messi is different class - and Barcelona are more interesting now that their midfield can't hog the ball for 90 minutes.

Suarez is different class again today. For all of Messi's brilliance, Suarez does so much of the hardwork and make the entire front 3 function.

Messi's assist to Rakitic is sick though.

Seville Madrid looks good, only just tuned in.

2 in just 36 minutes now. 1 more to complete the hattrick.

😆

People should stop setting the bar for Ronaldo and Messi.

Please read properly before commenting!

I said if he wasn't as obsessed with scoring he'd be like Nani i.e. a skillful player with little end product.

It's not about being unhappy at a teammate scoring. It's about the standards he sets for himself and the hunger he has to score goals.

It's one thing to be upset because you miss. To be upset because your teammate scored instead of you is something else entirely.

Ronaldo can be extremely driven while also not puilling a sulk if his team mate who hasn't scored in 3 years manages to nick a goal.

Jones nailed it! Ronaldo hattrick 😆

Stunning header. Absolutely world class.

Let that be a lesson to you. 🙂

😆 To be fair to jones, Sevilla away on paper is one of the most difficult matches to score hattrick in, but their form has been getting worse lately.
