City move would be annoying. It furthers the notion that we are their nursery, although he'd probably be the most accomplished player they've taken from us. 3 of their 4 recruits were a mess.

Or perhaps the notion that they are our retirement home (or cemetery)? These bottomless fools payed 25 mil for Adebayor, More than 15 for kolo, and they payed some for Clichy. (Just realized I totally forgot about Nasri 😆 ).
I'd hate to lose Bac (and he surely doesn't belong in that group, nor do we gain anything this time), but I don't think this would strengthen any such perception. Much rather he goes there than to any of Utd, Chelsea, Pool or the absolute unthinkable.

City would actually play him as CB and he would solid as fuck. He won't cut it for them as a RB

handy pick up for city. he's marginally better than zabaleta, and a better cb than everyone bar kompany

For all we know he might be a better cb than Mertesacker.

😆 Are you serious?

Sagna as a CB will naturally mean a disadvantage in the aerial aspects of the game. A pairing of him and Vermaelen or Koscielny is certainly vulnerable in that respect. He is a cracking defender though, and for a CB I'd say he is a fast one at that.

sagna's got a good leap, though, and he's good in the air. i think any aerial disadvantage with him at CB is overstated. there are plenty of shorter, less athletic CBs who have done very well.

anyway, glad he finally got to win a trophy with us before leaving.

Was that blue boot "I'm already with one foot at City"?

If he is to leave indeed then that picture of Wenger kissing him on the head posted in the matchday thread is the perfect ending.

Kolo + Gallas failed spectacularly.

You need someone who is aerially dominant, regardless of how good the two individuals may be.

Sagnas disadvantage at CB isn't just aerial, he's still an ok athlete but he's not strong enough for CB. Put him against Andy Carroll or Lukaka and he'll get bossed.

Got what he deserved today though. Wish him well. He's been brilliant for us.

Did he actually tell BBC that he and club are still trying to get to a solution?
Is it just him trying not to be negative today or is there hope that he stays?

Sagna to BBC: "I don't know...I've been talking with the club for a long time and we'll try to find a solution"

@bbc606

Bacary Sagna when asked if today was his last game for @Arsenal... "I don't know. We are going to try and find the solution." #AFC

Unless there has been a breakthrough more recently it does look like he is leaving.

Kroenke said something to him as he walked up the steps too.

maybe City are stalling due to the FFP stuff.

Id be happy to see him sign but I won't be too upset if he leaves. He frustrates me on the ball.

I just think he'd be the perfect defender to keep and let him age into a squad defender. He's one of the few players out there who can actually play across the back 4.

Cheers!
I hope he stays.

I wish he'd stay. He's an extremely reliable defender.

Start looking for an upgrade though. For the type of football we try to play, we need someone who's better going forward.
