It will be cut in half after the appeal surely won't it?
Suarez banned for eight games
invisibleman18 wrote:It will be cut in half after the appeal surely won't it?
Why do you think? He's got the Fulham fans incident to deal with too, should only get worse...
Because shortening these sort of fans on appeal is the usual for the FA.
I actually think LFC's reputation has taken a bigger dip than Suarez's reputation from all this.
That strange club statement yesterday, tweets from Dalglish, and their manager is actually wearing one of those ridiculous T-shirts!
It's embarassing.
Redcafe are having a field day with this.
Sending those to my Liverpool supporting mates right now!
qs! wrote:Because shortening these sort of fans on appeal is the usual for the FA.
Indeed. They usually make them seem unexpectedly long on the assumpetion they will be appealed and shortened. Wouldn't expect it to end up being more than 4 or 5 games in this case.
Not for offences are serious as this one though. There's very little precedent for this, particularly since everyone outside of Liverpool agree with the ban and the FA spearhead the Kick It Out campaign.
In case anyone needs any reminding what a bunch of sanctimonious wankers these fans are:

Scousers are so boring.
Alan Hansen talking about "coloured" players on Match of the day:
Look how comfortable Dixon seems to be next to him!
That little commentary at the end is funny.
sounds like he had a big doobie hanging out his mouth

Liverpool FC taking credit for the Beatles? :hmm:

He's now apologized.
Dixon's reaction really says it all though.

Talk about a storm in a tea cup. He obviously meant no offence as evidenced by the fact that he used the word as part of a sentence chastising racism in football and calling for the status quo to be improved on further. The bloke at the end of the video sounds like a diiiiickhead, too.

I made it to a minute in before the urge to vomit started to become too much.
How can you not want Liverpool to fall out of existence after watching that?
What embarrassment of a club.
An ITK on Rawk posted long before yesterday's game that the team were going to wear Suarez T-shits. Cue Liverpool fans pumping their chests, "I could cry," YNWA stuff. Then one poster actually posted this as a serious suggestion.
i have a very efective idea can someone pass it to those in the know. ITK!!!
just before kick off when the cameras are on, the team forms a circle chain chanting very loudly, "NEGRITO! NEGRITO! NEGRITO!
Then in the midddle out pops a smiling glen johnson pulling up his jersey to reveal a t-shirt of suarez with a text saying. "OUR SUAREZ IS A FRIEND TO ALL COLOURS!"
this all ends with a loud "we willl never walk alone!" war cry from all the players1
I could not stop laughing.
How could a fan be so stupid. To be fair, most of the responses were pretty hillarious mocking the guy for posting it. And that mocking was just about the only bit of sanity I've seen from Liverpool fans over the past 24 hours.

They actually had to go to Hamburg to make it.

Tbf thats how people who weren't racists talked in the old days, he's just from another era.

Indeed Ricky, it's gotten out of hand see also this-

Cascarino never mentioned the persecution of Jews by the Nazi's during WW2, the word "Holocaust" has multiple meanings and applications.
Unfortunately we live in an age where every fucking monkey knows how to type words but doesn't understand the meaning of them.

FFS!
oh dear.
I just read that post again and burst out laughing.
They're the Ricky Gervais TV series of football clubs. Humour by excruciating self-humiliation.

Every football supporting person in my office is in tears reading that.
"Negrito! Negrito!"
oh god

Every club has their deluded lunatic fringe but in their case it seems that they taken over the asylum.
Not even our most deluded Wengerites were that deluded.
Love this reply:
Please tell me that was said as a joke!
Edit:

Oh. Fuck. You're not.
Then in the midddle out pops a smiling glen johnson pulling up his jersey to reveal a t-shirt of suarez with a text saying. "OUR SUAREZ IS A FRIEND TO ALL COLOURS!"
And then they further express their disapproval through the medium of dance!
This is amazing, Liverpool have behaved worse than Suarez in all this.
It's the "Out pops a smiling Glen Johnson" bit that always gets me.
To their credit 99% of the replies are people saying "that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard".
There is of course the guy saying:
GrkStav wrote:Suarez captain tonight and until the matter gets favorably resolved. If it does not resolve favorably, black armbands should be worn for the remainder of the season.
I didn't know whole organisations could have histrionic personality disorder.

Fuck you Klaus, I was stealing that for my tag line!

There's no storm. The Suarez issue is a storm but this certainly isn't.
He's apologised for an incorrect and ridiculous description that no black person would and should accept and he's kept his job which is fine.
Next.
Apparently the RAWK members tried to rig the Sky Sports Player of the Year poll by voting for Suarez as a protest against the ban. Redcafe found out and started to vote for Nani instead. Apparently they found a way to sneak in votes even though the poll was officially closed. Now he's surpassed Suarez and the RAWK people are sending screenshots to Sky and Watchdog from back when Suarez was winning to prove that it's a fix.
This is sad and pathetic on so many levels. It's also brilliant entertainment.

That really is a pathetic waste of time.
And everyone really knows Van Persie was the best player of 2011. If only we gave a flying fuck about such a pointless poll...

I haven't stopped laughing since I read this.
It would make my week if Liverpool actually did this, if only for the hilarity and shock horror.
Klaus wrote:

After I finnished laughing(it took a while) I realized that compared to most PL clubs that the Liverpool squad is very, err, white?
Remember how the press used to print those charts ranking the clubs according to which clubs had the most-to-least English players when they would talk about Arsenal and all our foreigners. If they did that looking at the percentage of black players, I think Liverpool would be at the very bottom. Not saying, that's it's on purpose by LFC or anything, it's just something that became highlighted with that Glen Johnson line.
