As someone who didn't want Mertesacker, I think he has done very well for us so far.

I was thinking of starting a thread the other day about the media's perception on Big Mert. Seems totally out of sync with his performances. He's no world beater, but he's done a more than solid job for us.

I was watching the MOTD highlights of the Aston Villa game, and when we conceded the goal the commentator immediately starts talking about Per's mistake. No mention of Vermaelen even though Vermaelen himself sees it as his mistake.

When it comes to football media and fans, once they've made up their mind about someone, it takes forever for them to change it.

Most non-Arsenal fans haven't got a clue about how good Koscielny is for example.

yeah when they have an agenda everything is dedicated to trying to support that opinion. yossi didn't say that goal was for per, he told verm it was for him for a reason.

and i could care less what spurs fans say about our players. i imagine everyone of them bar van persie (even those asshats have to give him his due) are shit and wouldn't get in their squad. best start in the color tv era have them feeling themselves a little bit too much.

They just call us a one man team now. We only have one good player according to just about every Spurs fan I know.

Tottenham have lost all three games that Ledley King hasn't featured in. Go figure.
