Maybe Levy actually cares about not coming across as a liar? We´ll see.

So after 6 long trophyless years we have finally sold the man whom we sacrificed Vieria and the balls of the team for, whose 'development' effectively started the 'transition period' that has plagued us ever since. Well done Arsene.

...and at a knock down price. Score!

Still........ a massive profit considering we paid £350k for him as a 16 year old?
Nonsense fee for Cesc though.

I actually think Wenger will be reeling once this finally goes through.
How much more can he cope with?
He had the air of a broken man on the edge last season, this cannot be helping matters.

Has looked pretty pissed about the situation with Cesc and especially Nasri for a few weeks.

I reckon he's seething.

He has a press conference tomorrow too, should be interesting.

Hope he cracks, good and proper, and says something interesting for a change.

Probably just stick two fingers up to the fans though.

His press conferences just make me angry these days. I suppose it is now time to be vague about Nasri and insist that he is not leaving or some shit like that. Oh, and he will talk about how he wants the fans to support the team no matter what, and that we will only add super quality to the squad, but only if we can identify the right player. He will, of course, also mention how big a squad we have. Angry already!

🙂
His press conferences are enough to make anyone question his grasp on reality.

He's never too worried about what the fans think.
He gets annoyed at the thought of being dictated to by the masses.
Both a strength and a weakness.

Increasingly a weakness though because a team as fragile as ours needs full vocal backing and support from the fans.

He believes it should be given regardless of how the team performs but he has to realise that he's created this sense of anger and frustration that won't just disappear because he instructs it to.

That ship kinda sailed when he sold Berbatov five minutes before transfer deadline.

Dunno why people are so irate about the Fabregas deal. We got a great RoI on him, sold him for a good price to the one team he was going to go to, and can move on. I think everyone has done well here (assuming, of course, that we decide to re-invest that money in playing staff). And does it matter if we are getting the money today, next month or next season? We can similarly tell Valencia that we will pay them in installments for Mata.

No more DNA. I'm actually kinda happy. Fabregas was the main feature of the trophyless era. What we should do now is go back to speed and power, and not make the mistake of trying to mould a new Cdsc

Sums up my feelings perfectly. I'm glad he's gone because he epitomised this era of failure. Though not his fault, the team was entirely built around him and this approach just did not work. Pace and power/strength is generaly what has always worked in England and it's how Wenger brought us success before 2005. If the post Cesc era means we begin to return to that, then this can only be good for us. Wenger will probably just try to mould Ramsey into the same role however.

seeing that pic of fabregas smiling at the airport, i kinda feel like i just got dumped.

Because we're not getting a high price for one of the world's best players, the erstwhile linchpin of our formation and the most creative player in Europe, who leaves us with years left on his Arsenal contract.

Of course when assessing his value we tend to look at the highest fees being achieved in the market (the likes of Carroll etc.) but that's only natural.

the way i look at it, what's his replacement value? how much would you have to spend to bring in a player (or players) of equivalent value who will deliver the same results and end product?

one of the worst things about this is that wilshere is now forced to be the centerpiece of our midfield, when at his age, he'd be much better off as a secondary player. we've been down this road before.

So did he end up taking that reported loyalty bonus? If so, that's flat out snarky behavior IMO.

Nah a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

Bitterly hilarious that his buyout would be four times the amount we've choked out of them. Such a bunch of cunts.

"Barca must win the title twice and Champions League once in the next five years" for the add-ons to eventuate. Sounds pretty likely all told.
