OK, so making the 'assumption' that we won't sign Eze (not a foregone conclusion, but a possibility).. Who would we be going after if we're still in for another winger?
Im guessing Rodrygo is a non-starter at this point. Too much 'i dont want to leave/i dont want to stay' from him. And he's the most expensive option on the market. Not 100% dead, but probably not gonna happen, especially if City are starting to get involved (and a sale of Savinho would almost guarantee they give Rodrygo a go)
Leao? Sort of like Madueke (chaos merchant) but way more flaky. Talent for days, but consistency for shit. Slightly less end product than i would expect as a main attacking threat, and slightly less than Rodrygo over the past 2 seasons (and he's 2 years older, and should be into his prime now)
Gordon? Not likely to be an option. Newcastle would never let him go in the same summer as letting Isak (probably) go. He would cost almost as much as Rodrygo, and while i think he could do well for us, not a realistic target
Garnacho? LMAO no.
Barcola? Would be my first choice if we could make it happen. Young, talented AF, quick, etc. He would also command Rodrygo-type money, but i would actually pay it for him if we could swing it (and if he wanted to come). Can play either side.
I don't know who (if any of them) we might end up with, but it needs to be someone that can challenge/displace Martinelli. Otherwise, what's the point? Martinelli is not a bad player, and he might thrive more having someone like Gyokeres playing in the middle, and i have time for Gab, but he needs to be challenged. Sorry to say, but Trossard can go, he's got some goals in him, but if we get a half-decent offer, we let him go.
