From day 1 Arsenal said they were not paying the release clause for Eze. If Spurs do then so be it. Its up to the player at that stage. He can refuse Spurs and wait for Arsenal or he can go with them. I don't see what else Arsenal are supposed to do in this situation? Pay £68m up front for Eze? Be real.

JazzG don't trust any of them is the best approach, they throw out so much stuff hoping it sticks..I am pretty sure they've all contradicted or provided updates in the course of the summer that are incorrect. He said eze was a club priority target July 26, such a priority we aren't going to sign him unless we can shift other players. All this kind of stuff is clickbait.

I think the only business remaining for us this window would be a Rodrygo loan (with or without an OTB), and that would happen on deadline day or thereabouts.

Disappointing if we don't get him if I'm being honest but I do kind of understand why as well. Still you look at how stacked other squads are getting he wouldn't do us any harm.

Spurs probably pushing hard and might move onto someone else so he can't wait around forever .

JazzG this is why the updates we were giving were pretty meaningless. Eze likely wants to move he can't wait for a maybe so either we do something or he's probably going to have to examine real options not empty words.

Eze would have been nice but I hope this just means we're giving up on Eze and not LW reinforcements all together.

As said countless times, we're winning fuck all if Martinelli/Trossard/Madueke are the options for LW in 25/26. Would be pathetic if we neglect this position again.

Was obvious we weren't signing anyone after Gyokeres. They have 2 for every position plus Jesus and this is the squad they are happy with for the season.

Let's hope they right and we wrong and Palace get their £68m for Eze off Spurs.

Pressure on Mikel now if he prioritised Mart/Madueke over Eze. He’s out if he doesn’t deliver. Clock starts tomorrow.

Arteta will be Arsenal's manager next year barring a total collapse (which I'd put at 1% chance). I suppose it's also theoretically possible that Pep retires and Mikel moves to City.

Sicario2 Arteta is going nowhere. And that’s a very good thing.

I’m as big of an Eze fan as there is and I’d be very disappointed not seeing him play for us, especially if he ended up at Spurs. That being said, if Arteta and Berta think there’s too much overlap with Nwaneri and that we need a pure LW option more, I’m okay with it. But if we end up with no Eze and no LW, I think that’s going to be a big mistake.

Hope we have someone else lined up or they know what they are doing because we have the scope PSR wise but are choosing to walk away. We have a creativity problem so I hope Zubimendi and Madueke step up or this might come back to haunt us.

Those players we are trying to shift will go, maybe on the last day of the window but we may not be able sell them. But even on loan is better than nothing

samthegooner Arteta not going anywhere for you and the others if we don’t win anything next should neglect the issue of Eze?. If we draw or lose on Sunday v Utd then no problem right? Areta has a lifetime contract so anything that happens doesn’t really matter. You guys must be the most relaxed supporters in the planet.

That seems to be the current direction of travel! Like you I'd prefer a LW first but I can't see anyone except Rodrygo who seems to have priced himself out and not being very decisive about leaving either.

Sicario2 we are clearly missing an additional attacking spark but people are deluding themselves into thinking this is not the case. It has been clear for the past two seasons that we need more creativity and technical quality at LW. The club have failed to address this and it's going to cost us.

We'll be here in 12 months having the same discussions after missing out again. It's a cycle that's repeated itself for 20 years and people don't recognise it. It's fucking baffling.

The question is what Stan and Josh will do - I don't think they're going to panic.
If we have a similar injury crisis to last year and it's because Mikel has played his starters into the ground despite the depth we've bought, then I would be in favor of moving on.

TambourineMan ppl have got used to accepting mediocrity. Standards have slipped so much that 21 years without a title is simply ok. Spending close to a billion and having nothing tangible silverware wise to show for it is ok.

Arteta? Oh go another season trophyless, that’s fine, always next year. Another £250m? Yes sure. Consequences? What consequences!
