CPM I know why we did - cheaper and scored many more goals - but I wanted him too. I think Ekitike will be an excellent player for Liverpool, which is annoying.

He is constantly late or out of position when crosses are delivered. He isn't able to find space, position himself in the defenders blind zone, time his runs so that he beats the defender to the cross etc. Same thing happened several times against Forest. His lack of match fitness is one thing, but his lack of "instinct" is very worrying.

So far the concerns for me about him are still there. He doesn't look like the difference maker able to settle those games we are struggling in our the margins are fine. He will get goals but maybe more when the game has already opened up. It does also feel that the transition from Portugal is going as you might worry, he's being managed fairly well by most but it was always a very different challenge coming here. We haven't really adapted to him as much as I hoped we would so that's difficult for him as well.

Lukazan what concerns me is physicality or lack thereof. Confident he will come good though but forget this guy scoring in a big game.

Sicario2 hard to be physical when your opposing centre back is trying to do a live reenactment of Face/Off though. 🤣

I thought he was decent today. I'd be feeling a little more angsty if we weren't only 6 league games in and with some really difficult away grounds ticked off. But we are where we are.

He held his own against the Newcastle physicality, seemed quicker in reaction and acceleration. His best overall game so far although ultimate currency will always be goals.

Probably his best game so far. Ran out of steam in the second half though. If he can recapture some of that pace he had we’ll be laughing.

He is starting to look much sharper. Visible difference in his movement. Strikes me as a player who needs a run of matches to get fully conditioned so I wouldn’t rest him tomorrow

He will probably start tomorrow, and I think he should. Olymp do not have defenders that can bully him around. Newcastle's defenders were 6'4, 6'3 and 6'6. Olymp's defenders are 6'1, 6'1, 5'11 and 5'10... Drastic difference. I say play him and let him unleash some beast against them.
