Something that is just as important as his goals is the space he creates for others. Having a legitimate goal threat in the middle frees up space on the wings, and doesnt allow teams to triple up on Saka (or Eze/Mart/whoever is playing on the left). It also seems to open up the top of the midfield. Thats where a player like Ode can operate with a bit more space and time to pick out better passes.
The reality is, we've played 8 games so far, and we've won 6. The other 2 were away at Pool and home v City. We all realize that Arteta did not put a starting lineup out for those 2 games that really 'went for it'. Vik has been a part of that. If Arteta gets over his 'fear' of big teams and keeps putting out teams with movement and creativity, and doesnt opt for the Rice/Merino pivot, we will have a good chance of winning most of our games. We have the players and depth to do it. We will also have players like Kai, Madueke, etc coming back just to add to the options.
Everyone wants to bang on about the amount of goals he scores (and i do expect him to bag at least 15+, hopefully a few more), but if we keep on winning games, that what is most important.
