He will probably start tomorrow, and I think he should. Olymp do not have defenders that can bully him around. Newcastle's defenders were 6'4, 6'3 and 6'6. Olymp's defenders are 6'1, 6'1, 5'11 and 5'10... Drastic difference. I say play him and let him unleash some beast against them.

That’s an excellent performance. I really like how our attacking play doesn’t slow down with him. Ok not everything came off, but the intensity, directness and speed of play unsettles the opposition so much, that follow on opportunities present themself.

We are going to club teams as soon as Eze, Gyokeres and Saka hit top gear.

lorddulaarsenal I thought he played quite well but this shows he was better than I thought. During the tension of the game you don't notice all the small things.

Looks like we're close to going Full Gyök on some sorry team's ass.

lorddulaarsenal Really sharp performance. Linking well with his teammates. Few chances he could have done better with. Hope he can start converting a few of those and then we will be all good.

With Havertz injury he has been a godsend tbh and hopefully Havertz will be back soon to share the load with him.

lorddulaarsenal I watched MOTD yesterday and even in those highlights there were so many good Gyok moments. Its about as good as you will get from a striker who hasn't scored. Just needs to bang them in now against the lesser teams and get his confidence up. A goal in the derby would be great too.

He's starting to look like himself. People will have to be a little patient, that's all.

What I thought was most interesting against Newcastle was how much he unlocked Saka. Him and Eze both to be fair, they're vertical movers but they also move the attack on quickly like Dools says, never a tedious backpass to kill a transition if they can avoid it. I counted at least a couple situations where Saka was released in behind that I doubt would have happened with a different striker on the pitch. I think Saka's going to move up a tier this season and finally get his proper dues as he murders opponents during transitions. That's the difference between a star boy and a genuine ballon d'Or contender.

He’ll need to fight to stay on his feet a bit more (won’t get anything from these English refs), but on the whole I thought it was a very good performance. As good as it gets without actually scoring - a Madueke special (and not saying that in a negative way, just alluding to him lacking end product recently). He did everything else well. And his hold up play has improved massively since his first couple of games - his touch is notably cleaner and more assured, lighter on his feet. Held his own against these troglodytes.

I loved it. I absolutely loved how he took it. He went on board and there wasn't a single moment where he showed frustration. I told him that he was going to get some decisions and some not and he was going to have two or three players around him but I loved his reaction a lot. The way he handled the situation emotionally and as well because he was involved in a lot of dangerous moments. It's a pity he didn't score a goal because in my opinion he fully deserved it.

I thought his performance on Sunday was very Havertz-esque which was quite reassuring because we know that on top of this he has the goals that Havertz doesn't.

If he can maintain this level of contribution then we don't need him to score 30, 18 to 20 in the league would be sufficient because his all round game will bring goals in from other areas of the pitch.

Anyway, let's hope he gets a couple over the next two as we won't be getting too many easier back to back home games again this season.

On any sane day he would have won us the penalty and then scored it too and no one could have a bad word to say about his performance. This game was a step in the right direction and I think he's starting to adjust to this league, which is a shock to the system for most

Sicario2 he had plenty of chances. His link up play is better, plenty of flicks and decent passes...but still not as good as Havertz when it comes to link up play. And somehow he manages to score less then Havertz as well. Not looking very good

liked his performance. I have mild concerns about the way he uses his body when he's through on goal. he keeps giving defenders a chance to recover and have another bite at the ball. he either needs to take less touches and close down the angle so the defenders stay beaten, or start chopping inside to make space if the defenders keep catching up
