Qwiss A lot of what we're seeing is what the skeptics about his transfer were concerned about. And yes I expect he'll improve as he gets acclimated, but it's hard to get more pace and a first touch at age 27.

Qwiss would you call him a success so far? I’m saying he can, and I hope he will, get even better and that we’ll get a better sense of how good he is when this tough run of fixtures off the bat is done.

I’m not the one trying to be controversial. He had one great goal, one penalty and one tap in, let’s not pretend he’s been lighting it up. I agree that like most injured players, Harvertz is different in people’s memories, and I’m still glad we got Gyokeres. Definitely did not want Tesco

FEBravo 5 games is too early to judge but I'm happy so far. If he stayed at this level all season he'd score as many as Isak last season.

I like Gyokeres, I think he’ll figure it out. The thing I’m concerned about is his physical conditioning. His BMI is most definitely higher than it was when he was scoring for fun last season

USArsenal so do you think there are games that are Havertz games and others that are Gyokeres games? Interested to get your perspective on how you see it (as in what scenarios suit each player).

@Klaus I must say compared to the hype, VG has been a little underwhelming so far. I was expecting more. I appreciate its early doors but just some worrying signs I see.

He should've been in position for the Timber cross. I'm not going to judge him until later on in the season, but an RVP or Aubameyang would've anticipated that cross and made sure they were in the right position. The space was open for him to attack it.

Dom yeah, that ball was the one you want your end-product striker on the end of. that said, our ride hand side is mostly taking it to the by-line, close to the 9, so the only space to find is dropping back away from the crowd.

hope he hits the wave length of the team, and they his, otherwise we’ve just got Better Nketia.

He is constantly late or out of position when crosses are delivered. He isn't able to find space, position himself in the defenders blind zone, time his runs so that he beats the defender to the cross etc. Same thing happened several times against Forest. His lack of match fitness is one thing, but his lack of "instinct" is very worrying.

I wonder if not being the main man is also playing on his mind. It’s clear he remains very focussed but he doesn’t appear to be quite as assured of himself. The hesitation to pull his mask celebration is an indicator of that. It’s not easy coming in to an environment like Arsenal where the expectations are huge. He’s started off reasonably well, but you know there’s more to come from him

Not impressive, but he is being sabotaged by an absolutely ridiculous midfield behind him.

CPM I know why we did - cheaper and scored many more goals - but I wanted him too. I think Ekitike will be an excellent player for Liverpool, which is annoying.

So far the concerns for me about him are still there. He doesn't look like the difference maker able to settle those games we are struggling in our the margins are fine. He will get goals but maybe more when the game has already opened up. It does also feel that the transition from Portugal is going as you might worry, he's being managed fairly well by most but it was always a very different challenge coming here. We haven't really adapted to him as much as I hoped we would so that's difficult for him as well.
