There is a big agenda on Sky against Gyokeres. Just heard Caraagher saying he doesn't do it against the big teams which absurd for a players who's had 1 big game so far. He's not saying it about Wirtz who's done fuck all against anyone or Ekitike who's been similar to Gyok but not being criticised for being invisible against us. And these guys were much more expensive.

Anyway, what did Ekitike do against us? What did Haaland do last season? Strikers score less in general against better opposition than against worse, that's true for everyone.

We paused the Gyok deal to assess Isak, but weren't sure we could get it done. All the rumours were that Isak is arteta ideal striker option. That's been consistent for 2 years. Nobody in there right mind goes for Gyok over Isak. Liverpool opted to pay double for Isak rather than go for Gyok.

I'm not saying his a bad player, he's just not the type of striker I'd go for with our team. He'll score of course he will. I love podolski it didn't mean I didn't want sanchez. Real loved Ozil it didn't mean they didn't want someone better defensively.

I love havertz it doesn't mean I want him leading the line for another season. I like Gyok he's really fun to watch. He's not what I want ideally. But I'll love watching him every week.

Haaland missed a penalty in that game for what it's worth that could have swung it in their favor. It's not easy to step up on these occasions.

Slid it perfectly to Trossard, a pass any number 10 would be proud of, but Leo just didn't have the legs to beat anyone. The Madueke chance too came from an excellent first time lay off which opened up the field for Rice. To make him effective the ball has to go early to him.

He looks so limited as a footballer right now. He's trying hard but it's like his body isn't up to it or he's just not good enough to match our pace

tazmania His lack of foot speed versus Ake was a worry a couple of times. We knew Premier League defenders would be far faster than Portugal, but we do need Gyökeres to be able to get on the break and finish if he's going to fulfil his expected function.
