Sicario2 I think the key thing is he has massively improved this season, under a coach like Arteta whose forte is attacking wide players I honestly think he'll get a lot better. We can't keep running Saka into the ground and we need something different off the bench. Player aesthetics make a difference, players can get overrated or underrated on how they look on the pitch.

I hope our fans give him a chance as well, I still get the sense some who wrote off Havertz literally can't wait for him to have a bad game to let everyone know. Like him or not he's an Arsenal player now, get behind him. I don't like the thought of Gyokeres but if he joins I'll 100% be behind him and only want him to succeed for us, will happily take all the insults thrown at me if he proves a hit.

He's a decent player but it's a criminal use of funds given what the squad needs. He's coming in to

1- Be a backup to Saka who is our fucking star player that is expected to play the majority of our games and we have Nwaneri, an elite talent who will definitely see less game time now

2- Even worse, our first choice LW which is a complete stupid gamble on a number of different levels..

If we sign Eze and Rodrygo, I happily change my mind but that ain't happening..

But yeah, talking about Rodrygo and Eze only to end up with this bloke is hard to stomach. I just feel people should give him a chance. It's not his fault we're blowing this kind of cash on him. If this had been announced a day after Gyökeres I think most people would have been underwhelmed but pretty chill about it.

That is spot on, he is good in tight areas but also gives us a player to move the ball up the pitch quickly, we don't have a players in our squad who get the ball up the pitch quick enough so he'll definitely help there.

As much as I appreciated the cut of his jib, having Madueke as an option to change the game from the bench sure beats turning to Keiran Tierney to do something magical

This is a major positive that isn't being considered. We've desperately lacked someone who could come off the bench and add pace to the attack, beat some men and create some chaos. My issue is more that - we should be looking at signing a player who can spell Saka and especially Martinelli to the bench, rather than a clear backup.

Both Norgaard and Madueke aren't players I'll be keen on wanting on the pitch in a CL QF.

Explain to me what is entitled about not wanting us to spend £52m on Chelsea's back-up RW (potentially 3rd choice with Estevao arriving) to be our back-up RW when we desperately need a LW and ST. Additionally, this is a guy they signed for £29m two years ago and we're almost doubling their money when he has barely improved since arriving. Chelsea fans (who know him better than any stat department) are over the moon with this and we're entitled for being upset?

Make this make sense for me please.

The main problem with this signing is that it ‘kills’ Nwaneri esp if we are getting Eze. Where is the young man going to play?

Sicario2 I don't think it does at all, bottom line Nwaneri physically isn't up to it so we need to carefully manage him. But at the same time we can't stand still as a club waiting for him either. Eze will be 30 in 3 years and Nwaneri will be 21, he doesn't have to break through at 18/19 into our first XI, that only happens in rare cases.

Arteta got rid of Vieira to give him minutes, you don't think he'll find space for him again?

They are a high turnover club, that is their operating model. Some of them they get right but some they get wrong. I trust our clubs judgment.

Mirth Shady Chelsea business aside I just can't imagine this is our big attacking signing for the summer though. The next week should tell us where we're at in terms of recruitment.

JazzG we for sure know that the club don't care about fan sentiment, hence their stance on Partey.

And it's not about bowing to fan pressure, it's about reading the room and understanding that Madueke is not going to start at the same place as all other signings. If he starts slow, fans will be on his back and I'm not arguing if this is right or wrong but am just stating the reality. The club know this too so why take the risk? Why create this negative energy? It doesn't make sense.

And to say fan opinion doesn't matter is elitist bullshit. The club is run for the fans and if we don't want a rapist playing for us, that is our right to demand. And if we don't want to shovel our neighbours shit, that is our right to demand as well.

JazzG they've sold WAY more duds than successes. Salah and KdB are two from a massive list of inflated sales that have not worked for the buying clubs but sure, keep referencing that if it makes you feel better about shoveling shit.
