Yep. Way more risk with hyped up kids. How many young Bundesliga strikers have we seen come to the PL after scoring similar numbers to Sesko and never go beyond that?

samthegooner for me they both have a similar ceiling. There is a chance that Sesko develops into a top striker, there is a chance Gyokeres is already one and ready for the step up.

lorddulaarsenal Wissa I like, different profile than Havertz and could be a good back up option if we miss our big targets. Mateta is good but injury prone. Joao Pedro I don't think is good enough.

To be fair I don’t see an awful lot of difference between them and Sesko or Gyokeres. They are proven goal getters in the Prem and could be used as an alternative to Havertz.

It’s probably better to splurge big funds on a player like Rogers

lorddulaarsenal Sesko and Gyokeres have higher ceilings esp the former and will be better equipped in CL and top opposition. Wissa is a glorified journeymen striker.

Pepe LeFrits you were saying he had better numbers against Havertz, Sesko, etc because he was fit. I pointed out he has better goals per 90 as well. It wasn't a riddle.

Speedster It is a sellers market when it comes to CFs, lack of options out there meaning players like him are being priced £20m more than they are worth.

Apparently DiMarzio claims we've agreed personal terms with Gyökeres.

Assuming for a moment that current transfer rumours are true, what's the point of agreeing personal terms with two strikers unless you're trying to get both? Shouldn't there be a clear target to pursue? Do Arsenal really need to save money so badly that it comes down to which one of Sporting and Leipzig that blinks first?

It's entirely possible that we think they're equivalent in the long run (one is better in this way, the other in some other way) and so cost becomes a relevant factor.
I haven't watched enough of either to have an opinion either way but it's pretty clear to me that the rest of the world does not consider it to be as cut-and-dried as you do.

Klaus could just be leverage while negotiating. could be insurance that you don't leave the summer window empty handed. Don't see a problem

Klaus It is also about negotiating, I think the club internally do have a preference but you don't want the selling club to know this. There is no buy out clause so we need to agree a deal and if they know we are actively pursuing other options unless they've got another club lined up it will put them under pressure to do a deal.

remember when we had henry, adebayor, rvp and julio baptista on the pitch at the same time? from that list julio is the closest to our poverty options (at full strength) right now.

Only real possibility for that I can see is if they've decided they don't like any of the winger options and are planning a squad of:

Gyokeres/Sesko
Martinelli/Trossard Odegaard/Havertz Saka/Nwaneri

... but I don't see it happening.

Did we ever have them on the pitch at the same time? It was a lousy set of options for a 442 team anyway. Henry had declined a lot and missed a load of that season, van Persie was a sicknote as well (as he was for a lot of his Arsenal career) and Baptista and Adebayor were shit.
