I agree that I dont really fancy Sane, but i dont think he's our main target. I see him more of a Trossard type signing, someone that can add depth in a position where we need depth (on the wings). I still think we'll see someone like Williams come as well. I don't think Sane could possibly be anywhere near as bad as Sterling was this year.

Doesn't matter. It's a competitive market, so we need to pay what it takes. Sometimes the sign-on bonus is a way to manage the wage structure by paying the difference between what the club is willing to pay vs what the player wants as a sign-on bonus so as to not break the club's wage structure. I'd be shocked if some of our existing players also don't make a sign-on bonus when they renew.

Most, if not all, players these days have some sort of signing or loyalty bonus as part of new deals. It's generally not paid as one lump sum but spread across the contract, sometimes paid on an annual basis or on milestones, sometimes paid monthly/weekly.

cynical take - this is a massive signing bonus (12m Euros over 5 years equates to an additional 50k euros a week, which is a significat money on top of his 140k euros a week). I suspect we have hidden an agent fee in this bonus, so we don't report agent fees but still make Hasan happy

Been watching vids of Jamie Gittens. I think he’s just what we need. Provided the price is right Is go for him.

lorddulaarsenal Gittens still looks immature. Also looking at his stats, I notice that he started from October 2024 to February 2025. And then his minutes collapsed and he mainly had 5-10 minute sub appearances after that. Kovac has publicly complained about Gittens' workrate, particularly after they played Barca. Gittens responded by saying "I'll be leaving soon anyway", instead of pulling up his socks. In his defense, somtimes the coach likes wingbacks, but Gittens should've nailed down a spot and stayed positive.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert nah, he is moving. they want to cash in and he wants to move to a better league and cash in. that's why they talk about him moving daily, it's like a soap opera already - someone from Sporting talks daily about him leaving.

SimplyThePest if that is the case, then it is Andrea Berta's (very well remunerated) job to push him on that and provide other options.

JazzG Delap feels like he could become a Gyokeres type/level player in the future. Still a very high level of risk attached though as a lot of development still required. If you can rotate him with someone more experienced, he'd be a great squad option.

Don Pacifico His release clause is also very fair money so you take a gamble at that money. Think it is around £30m I believe.

He is well known to English clubs as he has come through at Man City and scoring 12 goals in his first season playing for a team like Ipswich isn't bad at his age. Chelsea have Jackson as well so they have options for up front.
