Coombs disagree. we seem to have memory holed the significant write-off and subsequent spending program the kroenkes signed off on. in phase 1 we paid alot of guys to fuck off, some of which was very costly in the form of pepe, aubameyang and ozil.
id argue our main problem isnt a lack of ambitious spending, its a lack of efficient spending. the kroenkes have done their bit. if they're deciding to tighten up and demand a bit more bang for their buck, Id be reticent about to throw stones at them about that decision. people might argue they're pulling up stumps when we're right on the cusp of winning, but on the flipside you can argue that they've put in more than enough to turn around say 'we've acquiesced to everything youve asked for over 4 years - now go out and make it happen'

      fab and orny playing different tunes this window. this makes it sounds like he's knocked spurs back in the hope someone else will come in. if we showed serious interest I'm sure it's a deal we could do, but he may not be a high priority target for us

            I fully understood what Arteta said when he said there are 3 parties and they all need to be aligned. And the stuff you really want usually takes time. See how drawn out it’s been to get Raya, Zubimendi, Ode, Rice and others. They all eventually got here after a very drawn out courtship process. It’s not just about what Arsenal want. If all 3 parties don’t love the deal in that moment, you’re fucked.

            It’s easy for someone to like the Marmoush deal despite @jones saying he’s going nowhere. City desperately need a forward after failed signings and Alvarez sale. They gave a barely proven player a £14.5m salary. And they gave the team £60m.

                    Burnwinter I suspect they accounted for this insanely long champions league and europa league program. Usually these competitions are done by December. Remember, participants can register up to 3 new players for knockouts.

                          Claudius He needs to sign the GK and a defender this window, just to send a message to the Arsenal fans that he'll get what he wants not what they want 😉

                            We should keep an eye out for the best young players at United and Chelsea. Do the same to them where we legitimately feel someone can be part of the team.

                            Rashford to Villa on loan might conceivably keep our Watkins bid alive ... ?

                            Saw a thing saying that with Merino's signing and Raya's (delayed) transfer, we've already had two of the top five deals by size for players over 28 in world football since the end of season 23–24. Might as well increase that to three of the top five eh?

                              Burnwinter we have a young team. We are about to lose a few more vets end of the year(Jorginho, Partey, maybe Trossard/jesus), and we have fully integrated two talented teenagers.
                              So we have room for a vet

                                  Claudius Watkins just turned 29 and 4 years ago was playing in the championship. He’s hardly a vet.

                                  Rashford to Villa could work in our favour

                                    Claudius We definitely aren't losing Jesus at the end of the year because he's wrecked his ACL. No point selling Trossard either because we won't get a fee to speak of and he's still useful. We sign Watkins, I'm quite certain he'll be an overpaid bench option at best by the time he's 31, he'll go the way of Jesus. I'm against it. I don't think it's a move that'll bring us silverware.
