Edu is leaving! Wonder what the reason is, he’s played a massive part of turning this club around so disappointing he is leaving. Let’s hope we find a good replacement who can work well with Arteta.

This is an opportunity. Edus done alright but it's a chance to get someone in who can do better. Maybe someone with new avenues to players we haven't considered before.

It's a shame as our recruitment has been pretty good for many seasons. Despite all the criticisms we've had on various points and players, things were worse before.

I guess we'll never see now whether Edu would've had the ability to turn over this squad he built while being efficient with money.

Curious if any more information will come out about this, whether there was conflict, KSE involvement, and so on.

Interesting timing (and decision from him), with Vini leaving in the summer and us still to fulfill our trophy potential.

    We've done well since Edu has cemented his role. I've always been inclined to think it's more correlation than causation though. Recruitment has been good albeit, I'm yet to see how much he's contributed to that beyond being the middle man between our recruitment department and Arteta. We've also sold most our players for a pittance and been continuously fleeced by those we look to buy from. There have been signs of improvement in the last 6 months but I'm very open to there being a replacement and one that challenges Arteta more (which is a comment on Edu, not on Arteta).

    Sad to see him go. But I think a lot of fans will be excited by this given the complaints about our summer window.

    Replacing Edu isn't necessarily an issue, but unless he has a better job lined up you have to wonder why.

      QuincyAbeyie He will have a bigger role at Nottingham, at the group that own Nottingham, so he will be the biggest boss at 3 clubs, they also have Rio Ave in Portugal and some team in Greece.
      Again, we can and should do better, I'm not worried.
