RocktheCasbah Jesus has never been the solution. He was a mediocre player for City who came in and had a brief purple patch that was probably a bit more mauve if you weren't comparing him to a busted Laca the season before.
That said I always thought Jesus would be a solid enough utility forward but that pre-World Cup injury seems to have stripped him of even that. He's been absolutely dire this season. And has been sub par generally since the World Cup. At least Arteta seems to have come around to the reality that Trossard is a far superior player. There were rumours about the club looking for suitors for Jesus last season and the way he's been on the fringes this season makes me believe that even more.
With that said it makes some sense that the club can't go out and splurge on players left right and centre for every position without moving players on first, especially players on crazy high wages like Jesus. We are stuck with him for now. Hopefully he can give us another purple patch or even just a big moment or two before the end of the season. And more than anything lets hope Kai can stay fit and healthy all season.
