      Huge break for England, Maguire misses out due to injury. Wharton selected too just based on half a season of PL.

      Finally a brave and selection based on merit by Southgate. Mainoo, Eze, Gordon etc all made the cut for e.g. Would have taken Brainwhaite personally and drop Dunk who has been a huge liability.

          Actually think Maddison/Rashford should have gone, they offer something very different to the rest of the squad even if their performances in the last 6 months have been iffy. Even Sancho surely had to be considered after the season he's had at Dortmund.

                  Clrnc you need contingencies though. If Kane gets his leg snapped in the first game you still want 2 proper strikers in the squad. Sure one may not play much all going well but if Kane goes down both will be important.

                      Branthwaite and White are big omissions in that squad, maybe Sancho too. Otherwise it's quite a refreshing selection; will watch England with interest at this tourney now for sure.
