Clrnc the difference is Ethan is a high potential player. The kid has quality pouring out of his veins. Watch videos of the players talking about him. I’ve never seen them talk this way about other young / fringe players in the last few years. You don’t just make space for all the random academy players people have been saying Arteta should play while we chase titles. But a guy like Ethan who could be a Saka or Fabregas level player, you make a plan.

Claudius think you're getting a bit too excited there. He's shown glimpses of talent, yes, but so have many others over the years who have gone on to do nothing. MLS has been getting hyped by the squad. Lets just see how many minutes they are given first.

For all we know 2 years down the line they could end up having hardly featured and looking to move on. I can already see it happening with MLS, though it'll be a shame as I've been a fan of his since first noticing him in one of those Cozier Duberry goal videos back in like late 2022ish.

There is nothing guaranteed in player development. But when you get players of this quality from the academy, you don’t create obstacles with 34 year old mercenaries

Yeah, if you believe Arteta doesn’t like playing kids then the fact that he gave Ethan 1 min as a 15yr old and 13mins as a 16yr old tells you he may be the exception.

That's the thing though. Who knows if they are really begging for him to play aside from their answer to a quaestion in one video which asked who the breakout player would be this season? It's not like we had a ton of kids on tour for them to pick from. It was always gonne be either Nwaneri, MLS or Heaven.

Nwaneri got the majority of the calls, MLS with a few and none or possibly one for Heaven. I guess we'll see if they really are begging Arteta to play him from the amount of minutes he ends up getting in the end.

He's promising, has a lot of potential, but on limited viewing still has some ways to go to be ready for a regular place on the bench. Reckon he'll drop back and make the odd bench appearance here and there soon enough. But he's only 16 so not really worried about his development yet. Just hope we can get him a good loan after he turns 17 during the second of half of the season once the League Cup and early FA Cup games are out the way.

Yeah maybe. Agreed though, I don't know if I'd read too much into those words, it could be easily him saying some nice things to encourage the guy and keep him motivated. We'll see what he actually does during the season at the end of games we're comfortably winning or during the League Cup and early FA Cup games. I'm excited to see what he can bring and those lower pressure situations could be ideal to give him some time on the pitch.
