Ten Hag might count himself lucky if he makes it to Christmas if things continue like this. Seen that quote and someone posted Ole's comments about cup wins as a response and he is spot on. A trophy is a trophy but it also doesn't really show your progression as a club, it papers over cracks and might give you a small good feel factor but that wears off quickly when reality sinks in. Was the same with our FA cup wins, great memories but were a club who were slowly falling out of the Top 4 and being left behind.
Lol. I used to moan about it then too. It was clear we were papering over the cracks with some of the fa cup victories towards the end of the Wenger years. I only wish we had dropped out of the top 4 earlier. We had a chance at Klopp and blew it.
This Casemiro performance is really mindblowing.
I have seen Nico Yennaris play better than this
Real Madrid played a blinder - conventional wisdom would suggest that Modric or Kroos would be the ones who fell off a cliff given that they’re older but selling Casimiro for £70m has been genius
Mirth I guess, but Casemiro was much more dependent on his physical attributes than Modric and Kroos.
Not that I thought Casemiro was going to fall off that quickly, it's been hilarious (nor did I think Kroos would stay that good right up until retirement).
Mirth It actually put a question in my head, Premier League is way faster, more press and more physical. Kroos and Modric might not fare well here too.
Jorginho looks like he is always running in mud when dispossessed but looked superb in International games when given space.
Clrnc Kroos and Modric might not fare well here too.
Well, to be fair, Modric played in the Prem for years before he went to RM... Though NOW he would struggle more, given his age.
Clrnc TBF Modric was terrible at first in the PL and couldn't deal with the physicality but he figured it out eventually and ended up being a top player which is why Madrid signed him.
“Also we have to make some improvement in [the overarching] organisation, we still have some injuries, we need some time. We are all on one page or in one boat together, the ownership, the staff and the players as well. I don’t have that concern.”
Journalist: aren't you worried they'll make you walk the plank?
Ten Hag: I'll scuttle her before they get that far.
Love this man.
United losing 3-2 to Porto after leading 2-0. He's definitely getting sacked in the next few days.
Pepe LeFrits Crazy. They give up so many huge chances again and again.
I think you'd be right, but then Ratcliffe is a self-absorbed guy bound to be desperate for the coronation of one of his select few preferred replacements for ten Hag. If he's got Southgate waiting in the wings it'll be a great soap opera 😆
Burnwinter I think they gave up the most shots of any team that survived relegation last year. They’re terrible. This fool hasn’t a clue. It saddens me that he’s so hapless. Wish he’d try enough to float around the zone of hope
“As always when we are not winning, we are very disappointed and we are also mad; mad with ourselves ... we are mad and from the madness we have to get motivation and go on to the next game.”
😆 Please stay. Keep the dream alive.
Claudius Wish he’d try enough to float around the zone of hope
It's not over yet. However, I'd refer the forum to the season predictions thread, where a solid half of all OMITT regulars suggested ten Hag wouldn't even be sacked this season. Bold call ...
Since Erik ten Hag joined the club in 2022, no Premier League club have conceded 3 or more goals in a match more times in all competitions than Manchester United (24).
77 mins What would you do now, if you were Erik ten Hag? He replaces both his centre-backs, sending on Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans for De Ligt and Martinez.
Virtuosity.
Vieira has just come on for Porto apparently.
Really, it should have been 4-2. I cant believe that missed 1 v 1 with Onana. They just have absolutely no identity, he seems to have no path for this team, he doesn't know how to use his players.
Nice save by Costa on Garnacho.
This Samu Omorodion kid looks quite good. Guess we are lucky Chelsea investment club didn't get him. \
Bryant wanted to say that. Absolutely powerful and his speed is crazy. Chelsea almost got Duran too according to Romano
Oh give me a break. Harry Maguire scores? Bahhhhh
