Clrnc rarely happens, last season was an outlier in that regard. Leicester should go down and I think Soton will too but I think Ipswich will have enough to survive. I think Brentford, Forrest and maybe even Wolves will be down there. Fancy Forrest to go down.

Ten Hag might count himself lucky if he makes it to Christmas if things continue like this. Seen that quote and someone posted Ole's comments about cup wins as a response and he is spot on. A trophy is a trophy but it also doesn't really show your progression as a club, it papers over cracks and might give you a small good feel factor but that wears off quickly when reality sinks in. Was the same with our FA cup wins, great memories but were a club who were slowly falling out of the Top 4 and being left behind.

Lol. I used to moan about it then too. It was clear we were papering over the cracks with some of the fa cup victories towards the end of the Wenger years. I only wish we had dropped out of the top 4 earlier. We had a chance at Klopp and blew it.

Real Madrid played a blinder - conventional wisdom would suggest that Modric or Kroos would be the ones who fell off a cliff given that they’re older but selling Casimiro for £70m has been genius

Mirth I guess, but Casemiro was much more dependent on his physical attributes than Modric and Kroos.

Not that I thought Casemiro was going to fall off that quickly, it's been hilarious (nor did I think Kroos would stay that good right up until retirement).

Mirth It actually put a question in my head, Premier League is way faster, more press and more physical. Kroos and Modric might not fare well here too.

Jorginho looks like he is always running in mud when dispossessed but looked superb in International games when given space.

Well, to be fair, Modric played in the Prem for years before he went to RM... Though NOW he would struggle more, given his age.

Clrnc TBF Modric was terrible at first in the PL and couldn't deal with the physicality but he figured it out eventually and ended up being a top player which is why Madrid signed him.
