Clrnc Got an open mind more broadly, but the thought was explicitly for today, having Tomi's defensive quality present further up field, a little freedom to help in central areas because not feeling very assured by Zinchenko and Jorginho against Bournemouth. If Saliba is due to start, thats quite assuring.

Saka, Rice and Saliba all traveled with the squad. I suspect Saka will start if he is 80% fit, Rice and Saliba could be given a few more days rest to recover considering we have able replacements in Jorginho and Tomiyasu.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert if Saka and Rice aren't 100% then they shouldn't start. The alternatives need to prove they're good enough and playing (teams like) Bournemouth should be the way they do it. If we can't beat them with some reserve players mixed in then that's a problem because we're not going to be able to rely on them later on in the season when we've got tougher opposition.

Agree on that, it will be further evidence of Arteta not able to try and utilise his squad and find a way to manage our players through these sorts of moments. We are still early in the season and we shouldn't be trying to rush or force players who might not be 100% into these matches.

I just didn't have a good feeling about this game without Rice or Partey, so good to see Rice in. I just hope he's good to go. Wish Saka was on the bench as precaution but oh well, he's a tough cookie.
