I just didn't have a good feeling about this game without Rice or Partey, so good to see Rice in. I just hope he's good to go. Wish Saka was on the bench as precaution but oh well, he's a tough cookie.

Nelson and Smith-Rowe should have been bedded in from the USA preseason tour. I'd say they need another 100-150 minutes through LC,CL,FAC, and League sub minutes to build up and then be freely utilised in any fixture after the international break.

Jesus and Nketiah got pelters for missing their chances in the NLD. Smith-Rowe and Nelson didn't convert golden chances either midweek (absolutely understandable) ; could easily have had to replay if Wissa converted one of his chances.

eddie needs to buck up his effort levels today. he was lackadaisical at times last week, which is unforgivable in a NLD. and he's not a guy oozing with talent, so he really should be bringing his lunch pail to work every day and hustling harder than anyone
