Concerns around his age (re-sale value?) and the fact he hasn’t played for so long would mean it would take him a while to get up to speed.

However, as others have mentioned, for Jan he won’t be bad at all but his impact may be from March onwards as opposed to someone who can come in and hit the ground running.

Thing is we need a shot in the arm in January. Top four isnt a given based on the quality in the league.

I'd rather we blow our budget on Ferguson, we have other strikers so he could be eased in but the upside and potential there is frightening.

We better move quick. Chelsea will be all over him

I see there's also one where the Napoli TikTok trolled him for missing a penalty.

Napoli should probably sack their social media guru—I assume it's some Gen Z moron who spends too much time on alt-right reddits—and issue an apology to the player.

what is coconut suppose to be? a compliment from racist people? "usually we don't like your kind, so you should be honored we think of you as brown on the outside and white on the inside. you're one of us"????

Lukecool on Toney. Blew me away when I first saw him play, but I'd much rather we just go big on Osimhen or Ferguson.

And I prefer Ferguson, at the moment. Feels like we don't get either if we sign Toney, but who knows. Nketiah going the other way could open up space for a top young prospect.

Ferguson is the best bet. Long term investment too.

Have a feeling Osimhen will drop off physically quite soon. Looks like he’ll have joint issues.

Ferguson for me looks much better than Osimhen. Looks smoother in his technique and movement.

Most probably out of our league unfortunately. Definitely going to take 150m+ to sign him in this market, could even be closer to 200m.

That's insane for someone with less than a year at the top level. But football has been insane with the likes of Caicedo going for 120m after just 9 months.

HomeSteak view based on their physique. Maybe not joint issues in particular but you can tell who will degrade physically swifter than others. He has legs like Alexis, albeit longer

I'm trying to imagine what Brighton will demand for Ferguson and I just can't see how it could work.

We certainly need a more clinical striker though.

Asterix On the latest Arsecast Extra they made the point that it could almost get to the point that the player might cost more than the whole club. 😆

Asterix Ferguson signed a 5 year deal, so it will run till the summer of 2028. So yeah, they will ask for 150 mil easy.

unless that contract has a release clause his agent failed him. it seems like the only one moving smart out there is haaland, he signs deals that gives him the ultimate freedom in choosing his destination and at a good price. when he's done with city they won't be able to price him out of a move to madrid. i guess they feel they can throw a tantrum and get their way, but that's so messy.

getting toney also means probably means seeing more of jesus on the wing, which I don't want. keep jesus as a 9, but get another high potential 9 like Ferguson to fight for the start spot, and sell eddie. there should be a decent market for him

If we can get a good fee for Jesus, I wouldn't mind selling him either. He's a good player, but I'm not sure what role he plays in our setup anymore. He's a bit like Alexis for me – he's got the hustle and flair to win over the fans, but he's an improvisational all-rounder who's probably best as a second striker, and not as useful in a modern 4-3-3 with more defined roles and patterns of play.

We need a physical presence and a reliable goalscorer up front. I like Toney in that role, although I'm a little nervous how he'll be after the suspension. I'd be more open to keeping Nketiah as the backup #9 – he doesn't have the pure physical/skill talent, but I think he's a useful squad player in that role, and he has shown the ability to work hard and get better.
