Last season after the world cup we struggled to retain our defensively discipline, conceded a crazy number and while we had some epic comebacks it just wasn't sustainable. We are on course to score less goals this season and that is fine by me if we can retain our defensive structure.
One thing some people forget about our 03/04 title win is that in 02/03 & 04/05 we played much better football, much more fluid and easy on the eye. I think we scored like 10+ more goals in those two seasons compared to 03/04 but we were a much more structured and disciplined team in 03/04. As the saying goes great attacks win matches but great defences wins titles. The strong defensive spine is a principle I felt Wenger was never able to recreate again.
Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert Don't think we even need signings, I think we have a great chance if we can just get our squad fit for the reason of the season. Once we get players back I think we'll improve and get better as the season goes on.
January is a hard window to make top signings. Unless we get a bargain or a top player becomes available we shouldn't blow our money for the sake of it.
