Only if the right players come up, fans inevitably end up sad after the January window because we don't make signings but they have to be the right player. Trossard came up last January and turned out to be a good signing for the right price. In hindsight probably good thing we didn't sign Mudryk or Caicedo last January.
I think if the right defender comes up I'm happy for us to make a move but we ain't gonna sign another Saliba and put him on the bench. Most probably be a top upcoming guy who we can bed in for now and then have him compete for places. I've seen links to Diomande and he looks the right fit. Getting players back is more key, if we can get Tomi and Timber back we have enough options at the back to rotate and deal with injuries. Last season we didn't just lose Saliba we also lost Tomi, that is what really fucked us up. If we had Tomi fit either he or White could have played with Gabriel, while it would have been a downgrade on Saliba, having Holding there instead was too big a drop in quality and it cost us.
In the summer I want to see us making a big move for someone like Frenkie De Jong or Kimmich, if we can't get them then we should be looking at Joao Neves or Zubimendi, these guys are all big money moves and then maybe we look to sign a CF as well. Need to keep money for those type of players.
