I don't mean to be a miserable git and I was happy for him to score a goal but does the whole sentiment of him being given the penalty and then the teams reaction after help anything? Depends on how you look at it. If the net result means Havertz gets closer to looking like a £65m signing then I’m all for it.

I think he is slowly getting better each game but we are talking from a very low bar. So has gone from 5/10 to 6.5/10.

Yeah definitely saw it as supportive rather than patronising. I assume having your teammates back you in that way makes you feel better rather than worse. And good on him for scoring it too.

An out of form attacking footballer being given a penalty when the game is already won is quite common actually. He got a goal and got a great reaction from the crowd afterwards, it would make me feel good knowing my team have my back. Even if it marginally improves his confidence that is a positive.

He’s a shell. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player who repeatedly under-hits 3 yard passes.

He’s at least started to turn with it, but he’s so languid with the ball at his feet that the pitch is suffocated the moment he gets the ball - it’s like we’re under water.
