If we don't perform it won't be intensity or complacency but simply being consumed by the occasion. As amazing as he's been we've seen Gabriel lose emotional control in some games and there's a few others who have that in them too. We need to just keep cool and play our usual game and not try too hard to win.

What gives me confidence though is the front line and midfield. Most of those guys don't get flustered.

Not sure this is the game you’ll get a match winning performance from Partey. Not to say I think he’ll disappoint, but Liverpool don’t really play through their midfield and I don’t see Partey man marking Salah/Nunez out wide.

Who I would like to see a match winning performance from us Odegaard. He should have it favorable coming up against a lagging Fabinho and whoever else’s they check out.

It says quite a bit about our options that Saka won PL's player of the month while Trossard won Arsenal's player of the month. I agree with your team, but Trossard has probably done as well as the others.

Interesting to see whether Paul Tierney fixes this game like he did when we faced Spurs in May '22. Klopp hates him so it may cancel out.

Since we lost at Old Trafford, this is the victory I want most. Irrespective of the title outcome, it would be a good unlock this achievement, to end the winless run at Anfield, and to get a double over Klopp.

To Burns' sense from a couple days back, I think Liverpool will be right up for this. The rotation last night was a slight reveal of hand. In the last 2-3 head to heads, this Arsenal team has started to express its quality and realise more of its potential. The tide has been turning and a Liverpool loss here could underscore the end of their cycle and a good heat check of ours. In terms of pubic perception, not mine necessarily. More than that, I think the Liverpool community is a bit envious, insecure? Just think back to 'what do you think they are smoking over there?' episode, the Firmino contract clause.

I guess not so much terrified, but expecting the worst since it's been a long time since we've got anything there and usually get embarrassed. Wins there always feel a bit special but can't remember the last time. Even a draw here would be a big result.

There could be some temptation to keep Trossard in the side given his recent form, and also the possible psychological impact as he's scored a hattrick there this season. But it would mean leaving out Martinelli or Jesus so wouldn't expect it.

A solid point's a win here, and hurts City plenty in my opinion. Us winning would be demoralising for them and would make the Etihad a must win—for them.

Imagine the bone deep joy of rolling over Liverpool at Anfield, then arm-wrestling City into cracking up at home. A little unlikely perhaps, but that would be some statement.

Clrnc My point being, we hadn't won at Spurs at all since that Rosicky goal which was nearly ten years ago - and we smashed them. That's a bogey ground dealt with and shit as they are, they're still 5th in the Premier League.
