I'd take a point, but I'm trying to train myself emotionally to feel this more as an opportunity to take a decisive stride towards a glorious league title, than a chance of blowing it all.

Clrnc My point being, we hadn't won at Spurs at all since that Rosicky goal which was nearly ten years ago - and we smashed them. That's a bogey ground dealt with and shit as they are, they're still 5th in the Premier League.

So, this is huge.

I don’t think we will be able to dominate the game how we’re used to seeing. Even when we do get control of the game Liverpool will show us how dangerous they are on the break.

We usually get over the line with our youthful high energy. And though that might come into it when liverpool tire out in the last 20 minutes having played a mid week fixture, the game will be determined more by who can assert their style more over the 90.

Liverpools home form is as good as anyones, isn’t it? I think we’ll see we’re not city, on Sunday. We can’t just go to anfield and Arteta-ball them to death. It’s going to take a more dynamic approach, more risks. If one of our players can produce a moment of real magic I think we’ll edge it, otherwise I think liverpooly will overwhelm us.

I'm not terrified, I think we can win it but it wont be easy and I'm not brimming with confidence the way I have been in other games recently. Winning at Anfield is always a big ask and their home form is still pretty good. We need to get at them early and the overhyped Anfield crowd will stay quiet.

Pepe LeFrits Excellent piece this, just came to post it myself.

@RocktheCasbah and I were discussing this very game last weekend. It probably remains my favourite ever Arsenal match. Kanu pulling the strings in central midfield. Pires quite literally turning Gerard’s body inside out. Ljungberg infront of the away end whilst a group of men dashing down the aisle whisked a 14 year old me about 10 rows infront of where I was stood.

It’s brilliant seeing Arsenal win there. Would give anything for that feeling this Sunday.

Pepe LeFrits love this read. I have very vague memories but I do remember Taylor being pretty capable when called upon and Wright being very unlucky with injuries. On hindsight would either have made it here had they stayed?

I mean, the day of the game is Easter Sunday, right? And who gets resurrected on Easter Sunday?

With Jesus on our side, there is no way we can lose.

On a slightly more serious note (and apologies to anyone who feels I was blaspheming), I am very much looking forward to watching our front 3 go at the Liverpool defence. Liverpool have been decent at home, I accept that, but I don't think they've had to deal with many frontlines like ours.

If we're going to win this game, it will be in the same fashion that we beat them at home or Real Madrid beat them at Anfield. Our attack will have to outshoot theirs. We aren't going to keep a clean sheet and they will definitely carve us open, but the question is if we can do more.

If Saliba was fit I'd be a whole lot more confident. Only as strong as your weakest link and all that, and our weakest link is pretty darn weak.

It’s fine if you hand one weak link in the whole team. The problem we have had historically is that we would have 4 or 5 bad players on together. Holding is a good player, just not optimal for our high line. It’s a small adjustment we can cover if the rest of the team is unchanged

The one thing I feel going against us is Paul Tierney.

We have never taken any points from a match he refereed since a season ago.

daredevil if you took the 16 goals Liverpool freakishly scored against Bournemouth and Manchester United out of the equation, they would have scored a pretty miserly 32 goals in 26 games and their goal difference would be a horrific -1.

Again, I'm not saying we're definitely going to win and I appreciate Liverpool at home> Liverpool away, but I also think we need to accept that, with 72 points from 29 games and 70 goals scored in that time (and no freakish hammerings trip bolster the goal difference), this is an excellent Arsenal side we are watching.

Doesn't mean we're going to win, of course and I get and - to an extent share - the concern about Rob Holding although I think it's being overdone here, but we do not have anything to fear on Sunday. Well, that is apart from the weight of history.

We are a superior outfit to Liverpool and I think we're about to prove it.

Claudius Definitely Rashford and Mitoma. White couldn’t cope with any of them. There was another winger in one of the Jan fixtures that gave us problem too can’t remember who now

Claudius -- that's true, but I also think Nunez is a little something else. He's not a winger, so he'll be playing the channel (narrow) between Holding and (behind) White which leads to challenges for both of them. I also think Nunez has the speed that will necessitate we help cover Holding.

I wish we would start Tierney here and Zinchenko middle but probably changing too much just to cope with Saliba absence.

Yeah Holding at Anfield really scares me. Nunez is in good form. I think we just need to score more than them, not a keep clean sheet game

Clrnc we were 3-0 up and in total control against Brighton when Ben White was subbed off (with Zinny as I recall) with half hour left, thus precipitating a late second half wobble. Not sure how you can say Benny boy was the one struggling.
