goon It's not negative, but the reality. Of course 2nd is disappointing having led the entire season with just one competition to focus on. You said that we bottled it yesterday too and that's the reality.
We can console ourselves with that 88, 90 or whatever points total is very high and good, but you are only as good as your competition. There's no point comparing to invincibles or the 90s, the competition and landscape is very different.
The only thing that matters is that if you are in a good position, you take it and try to win the title. Otherwise we can always be happy year in year out with 2nd, 3rd, 4th whatever and achieve 90 points in those positions.
Football isn't linear, we have to grab our chance this year and maximise it, starting from friday onwards. No guarantees we will challenge for the title this close again, or in this great position.
