Clrnc Makes sense. It's the sort of thing that should only happen in complete freak incidents. Yet, both times we made it look like us ever having those two-goal leads were the freak incidents.

The thing about Arsenal in the years since we won the last title we seem to have been the team that specialises in achieving some of these negative types of records which buck the trend and haven't yet managed to convert the positions into getting the outcome we want. Hopefully we can make that change soon

If spurs were in our position and lost the title like we may do we would all call it ‘bottling’.

It is what is, no point hiding behind the fact and yes, I know it hurts but to surrender two 8 point leads is bottling (if we lose the title).

The problem is the emotional baggage of this on top of last season. Next year in the business end of the season we may be fucked.

James we led the table for the entire season. To lose it in the last 7 matches because we gave a 2 goal lead away twice is bottling it. Make no mistake about it.

It's the same as the 02/03 team. They bottled that too

Of course. 'Bottling' isn't about expectations beforehand, because obviously we were far from favorites. It is, however, about throwing away the position you find yourself in.

Edit: However, I've never considered our chances more than about 60 %, so ai don't think I'd call it a bottle job regardless. Though it's also about the manner in which it Happens, I guess.

Part of why I don’t think about the next game. I put all my energy into enjoying our current games and standing. I know this is a Herculean task. We are so far ahead of everyone else, so I’m comfortable that this is a great team. One that has given me so many fantastic games this season. So I feel blessed

We're currently on course to finish the season with 88 points. That will have been enough points to have won the league in half of the 30 Premier League seasons (including the 3 seasons where 42 games were played). It's also not a true 8 or 7 point lead when the side on course for yet another 90+ point finish (their 5th in 6 seasons) have a game(s) in hand.

It's not bottle when you control the games and go 2-0 up as we have done. If anything it's complacency.

The rest of this run in will probably determine how many fans feel about this season went. It'll be disappointing if we don't win the title, but that doesn't make it a failure, largely down to all those points Delaney makes.

I think it's totally possible for this to be true and for our young squad to finish the season choking a little on what's required of them.

One thing I don't buy is the idea we should forgive poor results because financial doping has made City too dominant. The premise may be true, but the conclusion has to be that we have no objective other than to become even more perfect—this, with all its distortion and corruption, is still the league Arsenal competes in and must win again.
