Qwiss it's not the trophy I'm that bothered about it's this team winning and getting a winning culture. If that was going to be the league or champions League great I just don't believe we have what it takes to win those so got to go for the thing nearest the outcome. I think this team desperately needs to have an outcome where they have "won" something this season to dispel any sense you can't get over the line.

RocktheCasbah I was there too, was by the tunnel for this one. Might be wrong, but seen to remember Jack Wilshere having an absolute blinder.

I don't really remember much of that performance from Jack aside from his goal. The standout star was undoubtedly Vela though and we came out that gane thinking we have someone truly special coming through. Such a shame how it all turned out.

Qwiss I think winning and building a mentality for actually winning is a positive psychological thing for a team like ours. It's not the end of anything but I think they have to show they can see something through to the end.

awooga83 I remember both Mourinho and Pep saying winning the league cup helped them in the league run in, as it grew the players appetite for silverware. I don't blame Wenger or Arteta for overlooking it in previous years as we did not have the squad to for it, but now we do.
I would be ok with either the Fa cup or the league cup and a top 3 finish.

Mirth I feel old watching this, Wilshere scoring at 16. Wenger never won it, but he sure made watching the league cup fun. And Vela really fucked it up, he had so much talent

Jones and Tsimikas were woeful. Salah was quiet too. He's already managed a whole season's worth of output so hopefully he starts slowing down lol.

What do you mean before us? Last time Spurs won anything (a League Cup under that famous 'winner' who built the modern-day juggernaut that is Spurs - Juande Ramos) was in 2008. We've won 4 FA Cups since then and that's generally considered slim pickings by most Gooners.

Frankly, I couldn't give a toss if they won the League Cup. It wouldn't change anything about the sorry state of affairs their club is. Postecoglou will probably still be sacked some time in the next 18 months because they are going nowhere fast. A league cup doesn't change that or prove anything. Silverware is fun and If we win it, great but I'm not going to get vexed over meaningless metrics that the media trot out to whip fragile fans into pointless hysteria.

If Spurs won the league this season however...
